I've never forgotten that vision as long as I've known Bella, the girl I had become.
That vision had been sent to me to warn me about her abusive ex, Cameron Pierce. Better known as Cam. If that vision hadn't come when it had, she might have died at the hands of that cruel, merciless son of a bitch.
She was the first person I'd ever saved that actually ended up having some kind of impact on my life.
But, I'll tell you that story later. Now, Brendan is who I am.

***
"Brendan..." I mentally test out the name. The name rings a bell. Wait. Bell. Bella!
The name is familiar to me only because of her. I think hard. I know she knows Brendan, she knows me.
Then I remember who Brendan is, who I am.
Brendan Chance, a sick feeling rises inside me but I suppress it. Personal feelings aside, I've gotten this vision for a reason. It seems that I am, unfortunately, supposed to help the poor bastard.
Except I am the poor bastard. God, I hate having this ability sometimes.
I feel myself sit up. I look my soon to be killer it seems dead in the eye. Then it hits me who I just made eye contact with.
Cameron Pierce. No sooner than I realize this, someone else, an accomplice apparently, grabs me from behind.
I reach for my throat, which now has a rope behind it. So they were gonna take the slow approach to killing him. I mean, me. Oh, whatever.
My vision is fading as I fight for air. I surprise myself with how strong I suddenly am. I'd always had Brendan pegged as weak.
Then again, he was staring death straight in its cold eyes. More specifically, Cameron's cold, cruel brown eyes. Talk about one hell of an adrenaline rush.
BANG! Did that bastard just try to shoot me?! Now it was on. I don't think they realized who they just pissed off. Even I'm a little scared of Brendan right now.
He throws himself away from the mystery accomplice, loops his fingers through and rope and yanks forward, pulling it out of mystery dude's hands. Then Brendan slams his body into him. Brings his knee up and connects with mystery guy's nose.
It frustrates me that he won't show himself. I stand back up as he does. I punch whoever the hell it is in the face.
Then I hear another gunshot from behind me. And then it's over for Brendan. I wake up.
