Setting: The Jenner House, Calabasas, California
When I'm down, I get real down
Never in her life had Demi been so nervous to enter a place she used to call her home. Home was such a heavy term. Did she even have a home now? She knew that Trey said she could stay with him as long as she needed but what happened when the trauma and the apparent PTSD (Arnold had officially diagnosed her after the Starbucks incident) wore off and she was okay to be on her own again? Would he be as understanding of the way she left his bathroom counter slightly messy after doing her makeup or how she hogged all of his covers and basically kicked him off of the bed every night? Now Trey was off for a week performing at mandatory festivals since he had been slacking off lately and she wasn't comfortable with staying at his house so she had asked Kris if it was okay if she stayed with her. Of course, Kris didn't say no, but Demi had been a little too scared to ask, which is why she had decided to suck it up and stay at Trey's for the first half of the week, then Kris's for the second half.
Batman released a loud bark from inside of his carrier, so Demi took that as her cue to go inside. Kris was expecting her and said she had her old room for her ready and everything, so Demi pushed the door open and walked into the airy foyer, shouldering her Louis Vuitton duffel bag as she walked further into the house. Unsurprisingly, the whole family was there but surprisingly, there weren't any cameras around.
"Hey guys," Demi greeted, forcing a smile on her face as she set Batman and Robin's carrier on the ground and let Kris engulf her in a huge hug. Even though she stopped crying during her voicemails last week, Kris still left her voicemails and sent her encouraging texts every day just to keep up with her.
"I didn't know you'd all be here," Demi said as she went around and hugged everyone. Kendall pinched her side while they were hugging and she knew that was for not returning her calls. Demi's phone was basically burning a hole in her back pocket because it never stopped buzzing. She was surprised it hadn't freaked out and shut down on her yet.
"Well, we just figured we'd have a sibling sleepover just to cheer you up," Khloe suggested as Demi knelt down and opened Batman and Robin's carrier so that North and Penelope could play with them.
"Aw, really?"
Sibling sleepovers were something that Kylie came up with when Demi first moved in with them, just to make her feel like she was more a part of the family. They would go and buy all of the junk food that they could dream of, cook their favorite food, then binge watch a whole bunch of movies while gorging on candy. Matching pajamas and a giant made up fort in the basement were also part of the tradition.
"Yup, Kourtney is on her way back with all of the stuff."
"I don't even know why we sent her to buy all the stuff that means we're literally gonna be eating vegan food all night," Kylie complained, which caused Demi to giggle as she sat down at the counter.
