The difference between seeing the bright color compared to his darkened mood surprised him, causing him to flinch away from it's direction. Instinctively, he closed his eyelids, as if protecting his sockets from whatever could do harm.
He found not too shortly after that there was nothing that was or going to harm him. Hesitantly opening his eyelids, he spotted the same flash of red, but it wasn't what he had expected.
He had expected Tord to be standing there, glaring at him with a wolffish smile to tease and taunt him for something that Tom was sure he didn't deserve. But that wasn't the case. Instead, Tom saw a red light growing towards him, shining down the hallway and peering underneath a bedroom door.
A suspicious red light was behind a bedroom door.
Not going to lie, that's a little off-putting. Especially when Tom then realized that the room the light shined in belonged to none other than Tord, the recent main topic of interest in Tom's sad life.
There's a chance that the red light is from some kind of evil lair or maybe it's actually blood or maybe it's some kind of trap. No way is it a normal thing to have, a red light protruding from the spacious insides of a personal room. Who knew what was in there?
But, then a thought came to mind.
Tord's room. Personal. Wooing him.
There's no way Tom can bring himself to just sacrifice his sanity to venture into a madman's room, is there? Going inside that room could take so many things away from Tom, including his innocence. Well, he wasn't entirely innocent, but there is still no telling what could lie behind that door. Then again, this was an opportunity to get back at Tord.
'Okay', Tom decided, 'this is the last chance I'm going to give myself.'
And so, plan "Make Tord Fall in Love With Tom" was a go.
Hesitantly, Tom made his way carefully closer to the door, inching towards it and being cautious incase there were anymore unexpected visitors. When he finally stood in front of the door, he could feel his heart quicken in pace behind his ribcage in fear of what lies behind the door.
This is Tord's room. Usually he'll ignore the room and pretend it never existed, sometimes even stepping around the door when walking past it. Very few times he will find himself near this room, and this is only brings him back to that morning after his drunken night that resulted in a broken lamp. This night keeps coming up in Tom's mind as of recently, and there's a little hope that he might be able to find out the truth behind the mystery in this very room.
Tord is definitely hiding something from Tom, and there's no telling if the truth will be revealed once his quarters are seen or not. Either way, it's a risk and it needs to be taken.
Tom breathed, his hand coming to rest on the knob of the door and carefully turn it without a single sound. He was being way too cautious, his palms already sweating while his eyes shifted from side-to-side, expecting someone to drop by behind him and ask what he's doing. Luckily for him, he managed to get the door slightly open, the red glare of the light inside peaking down the hallway now.
Tom mentally prepared himself for what's behind the door, slowly opening it and having a freaking sound softly echo down the walls. It was way too loud, but he preferred opening the door slowly in favor of doing it fast, just in case he needed to prepare himself for anything.
Then, the door was fully opened.
Tom hadn't yet analyzed the room, but he looked at it now and wow.
This.
This is just a room.
There's nothing in here that could tell anyone that it belonged to Tord.
