One of the best riding academy's here in Australia, each year they take in 24 students, 12 males and 12 females who train and go through tests, in the end only two (one boy and one girl) will be allowed to stay and become a regular rider here as it'...
Maddie, Lili and I race back to the hall, we all speed to a halt and breath heavily.
"Thank-you for joining us ladies," Ms Lee looks over while flipping a page on her notepad, "ok students, these are dorms of 3, a bunk bed and a single." We all nod even though it wasn't a question.
"Lili, Toyah and Maddie, in dorm one" she pauses until the three girls have left, great I think, my only two friends aren't with me, but I'm happy they are with each other.
She continues, "lexi, Emma and Ella, in dorm two", all three strut away with their heads high. "Mia, Liv, Chelsea in dorm three." They hurry away while giggling.
"And finally...Megan, Victoria and Mayla in dorm four" she stops and waits for us to leave before continuing with the boys.
"Hey! My name's Megan" the tall ish brunette puts one arm on my shoulder and smiles.
"My name is Victoria" the red haired girl bows before laughing.
"My name is Mayla, as you probably already know" I laugh nervously hoping they would think of me as a friend and not an enemy.
We all continue to walk to our dorm and once we reach it, Victoria opens it with our key and we walk inside, "wow!" I smile eagerly and walk over to the bunk beds, "hey Mayla share with me!" Megan shouts while climbing to the top of the bunk-bed. I place my bags on the bottom bed and sit down.
This is amazing! I was expecting some kind of luxury since this place has billions but it's like a palace in here! We have massive thick sheets and a walk in wardrobe with a massive television on the wall.
Megan and I begin to unpack our gear and place it in the wardrobe while Victoria calls her Mum outside the dorm. Just when I thought nothing strange was gonna happen, Megan turns towards me and smiles cheekily, "sooo....who do you have a crush on?", I turn red "no-one" I lie.
"Aww come on! There must be someone!" She puts on her best puppy-dog eyes and I have to admit it worked. "Haha okay okay, so there's a guy who I saw, he has black hair and very nice blue eyes" I blush, I have to be honest this Megan girl seemed really trust worthy even though she was fairly full on, it was cool.
"Ohhh Hunter!" She smiled widely, "I saw him walking behind you today, you guys would be adorable together!" She seemed very happy about it, I was just glad that she didn't have a crush on him too.
After a long time of talking Victoria came back in and we all got changed into some riding gear, I grabbed my helmet, zipped up my chaps and we all began to walk back to the stables.
I waved bye to the others and grabbed lucky's blue and white halter off the stall gate, I opened the gate and caught lucky, he was a very good boy and I hoped to win a riding place here so I would get to ride him more to shows I wanted, I lead him to the cross ties and tied him up.
I went into the tack shed, grabbed the saddle + bridle labelled 'lucky' and a light blue saddle pad, I also grabbed a mane brush, hoof pick and body brush from the big green box.

I threw the saddle pad on him and then the saddle, it was a small dressage saddle, pure black, I grabbed the girth and tightened it to hole 3 with some space, I took the reins over Lucky's head, undid the cross ties and lead him out to the indoor arena where about 4 other riders where already mounted.
I pulled both stirrups down, took the reins back over Lucky's head and held them in one hand, the other holding to the saddle, I put my foot in the stirrup and on three pulled my self on, the girth was very loose so I walked him over to the nearest person for help and they gladly tightened it for me.
Once in the arena I joined around 9 other riders in a slow trotting circle to wait for the rest, I clicked lucky forward and he pushed right into a laid back trot, he wasn't too forward but wasn't too lazy and it was great.
Behind me was Maddie on arrow, they looked amazing together, the tall, blonde haired girl looked to be in amazing control, for a second I kind of wished that she could win because they looked as if they needed each other.
In front of me was Megan on her horse 'framed over rhythm n rain' or 'Bambi' as she called her, they were also made for each other, Bambi had a great slow trot and Megan posted to the trot perfectly, Bambi was a bay-paint mare with one blue eye and one brown, she was small but beautiful.
When a couple more riders joined we all moved up to a working trot and Lucky took it very well! When I thought nothing could go wrong, I looked to the other side of the group to see one of the other riders glaring at me, her name was Lexi I think and she was on her gorgeous Andalusian mare 'star', I turned back to focus on my riding but she wouldn't stop staring, she was a good rider too, it really bugged me.
I took a deep breath and her a high pitched horse squeak, while Lexi was too busy focussing on me, she let star run up one of the male rider's horses backside and star scored a kick to the head, we all slowed to a halt and watched as lexi attempted to calm star, her nostrils flaring and her eyes popping, I felt bad for star, we all watched as she reared and pig hopped while swinging her head, she wanted her rider off and she seemed as if she would get what she wanted.
