Jumin woke up in a cold sweat, panting. His hands were clammy and his breath was jagged. He ran his hands through his raven hair, his silver eyes darting around the room as if looking for someone. He pulled up the sheets and got out of his bed, the expensive fabric sticking to his sweaty legs. It was impossible to see, the light from his fish tank was only sustaining a light blue glow that had no meaning of helping him. He reached outwards, feeling for his furniture and his walls. His hands stumbled against the light switch as he flickered on his light. He squinted for a moment and closed his eyes, realizing that it was a bad idea. He flicked the light off again and put his back to the wall, looking around and trying to think of where his furniture was and how it looked in the daylight. Soon, after his eyes had adjusted to the light, he was able to leave his bedroom. He stumbled out into the kitchen where he turned on a lamp that gave off a warm, golden glow that was easier on his eyes. He looked down to the floor where Elizabeth the 3rd was sat, looking up at him. The feline was able to get anything from the businessman with just a flick of her luscious white tail. Jumin smiled and picked up the furball, holding her in his arms and rubbing her cheeks, giving her little kisses here and there. Although there was all this loneliness, his cat was his true companion through it all.He placed the cat down on the countertop where she stayed, watching as her master opened up cabinets in search of a glass. After finding no clean ones, Jumin grabbed one of his wine glasses and filled it with water, seating himself at the small table in the kitchen where he usually ate breakfast. He heard the front door open and could only assume it was his maid, Marie. Sure enough, it was.
"Oh!" She squealed as she turned the corner into the kitchen. "Sir, you're awake!" She exclaimed. Jumin nodded, rubbing Elizabeth the 3rd who had daintily hopped over onto the kitchen table, bits and pieces of her shedding white fur sticking to a doily that had been placed under a glass bowl of fresh fruits. "Yes, I am awake." Jumin confirmed for his maid as he took another sip of water. "Well, its 2 in the morning!! Surely this isn't the time for you to be drinking wine!" His maid huffed.
Marie was a young girl with a bit of chub in her freckled cheeks. She wasn't fat, but she wasn't necessarily skinny, either. She had long, frizzy red-orange hair and eyes like emeralds. In almost anyone's opinion, her eyes were her best feature; her attitude her worst. She was a bossy, snappy perfectionist who was controlling over the other maids. The last head maid was controlling as well, but in a sweeter, leadership sense. Marie just liked the feeling of being over complete control of other human lives. When talking, her voice was high pitched, like a birds. When singing, she didn't sound like a bird at all. She had a nice speaking voice, just a horrid singing voice. Overall, Jumin's greatest comparison he could make between Marie and anyone or anything else was the chipmunk in the green dress in Alvin and The Chipmunks.
"This isn't wine," Jumin stated blandly. "Its water." He took yet another sip. "Yeah, well if that's water then I'm Marilyn Monroe." Marie said sarcastically. "You better hold your dress down, then." Jumin said, trying to avoid eye contact as his maid began to dust the kitchen. "What? Why?" She asked, furrowing her brow. "Its water. And you said-" "I was saying it sarcastically." Marie snapped, pulling a piece of her long hair out of her face and slipping it behind her ear. Jumin rolled his eyes, too tired to deal with his maid.
When Marie wasn't on morning duty, she was normally less sarcastic towards Jumin and more flirty, twirling her hair around her finger and licking her lips, fluttering her eyelashes as she talked, and tilting her head to the side with a lustful smirk. Jumin knew what it meant. Besides the hair twirling and eyelash fluttering, Jumin did those things himself when getting a woman to sign a contract. (Sometimes it would even work on a man as well.) Yet when it came time for her to do morning cleanups, Marie was a morning grouch. It was as if Grumpy Cat had a child with Ebenezer Scrooge.
