Chapter 1

FLASHBACK

I woke up with one of the biggest smiles ever on my face. It was my eighth birthday today and I was sooooo excited. But today wasn't just my birthday it was also my twin brother Elliot's birthday too. As I was getting out of bed I looked at the clock and realized it was just a little after 8:30, which was really early compared to when I usually wake up. After getting dressed I sneaked into Elliot's room to see if he was awake or not.

Turned out he was. We jumped around and danced while singing happy birthday to each other. We gave our presents to each other. I got Elliot a dog tag necklace. One that says my name- Ruby Lynn Jackson and one that says his name- Elliot James Jackson, he got the one that says my name and I got the one that says his name. Elliot got me some Beatles pop figures- something that I've wanted ever since I saw them at a store. (I'm a huge Beatles fan after my dad made me listen to one of their songs.)

After we exchanged gifts we snuck into our parents room and we jumped on their bed chanting " It's our birthday, It's our birthday, It's our birthday." My mom groaned and scooted closer to my dad who sat up and looked around for any sign of danger and when he saw us he narrowed his eyes at us and pretend glared at us. He looked at the clock and he saw that it was 9:05 and apparently that was to early for his so he turned back to us and he pretended to be mad but he failed at it miserably and ended up smiling then chuckling.

I stood up and started jumping lightly and said " Dad, Dad guess what." My dad pretended to think a little bit and he then said "Ummmm, I think it's some twins birthday today. But i just don't know what twins birthday is today." Me and Elliot both pouted and put on puppy dog faces. My dad saw our faces and then he laughed and said "Oh, I remember its Elliot and Ruby's birthday today."

My mom then bolted up and said "Well that means that I better go make breakfast for my favorite twins." She gave my dad a kiss on the lips and me and El both squealed and covered each others eyes. My parents both laughed. "Oh shush, that's how both of you are going to be with your mates when you find them." My mom said. My dad then pulled us to him. He kissed the top of our heads and then put us down. Both me and Elliot walked downstairs to the dining room and sat down in our seats and waited for our parents.

I saw my dad enter the kitchen and he sat down while my mom made breakfast. My parents didn't need to ask what we got from each other for our birthday because they helped us buy the items. At the end of the day I looked back at all the stuff that happened today and smiled. I really loved the presents that I got but most of all I really love my family.

FLASHBACK OVER

I woke up spluttering and coughing up water. I turned to glare at who had thrown the water at me. As I saw that it was my father (he didn't deserve the name 'dad' after what he had done-I should start naming him sperm donor.) Bowing my head down as I realized my mistake, I knew it was too late. I prepared myself to not wince as he dragged me out of bed. He shoved me against the wall and grabbed a fistful of my hair making me look up at him.

"Did you just glare at me, you slutty whore?" I knew then and there I was in for some trouble. But if I wanted to reduce the pain I had to answer him...and at some certain times I would get angry and actually say the truth. "Y-Yes I d-did. And I'm so glad that its my 20th birthday today. Maybe then I can actually get rid of you." My wolf- Thea was proud of me. But me on the other hand, knew that I had made a mistake. My father gave out a heartless, hollow laugh. He then slapped me.

"You really think that you, the weakest person that I know actually has a mate. You, my dear dear daughter cannot have a mate. It's funny to even think about. After all you didn't find your mate when you shifted and now three years later you're finally going to look for him or maybe it's even a she. After all, why would the moon goddess give you a mate after all you've done. If you didn't go and open your mouth and blab to your brother about the abuse then maybe your mother would still be here. And maybe if your mother was still here your brother would still be here and not dead. Maybe your brother actually had the choice of coming back home and he didn't take it because he didn't want anyone to know that the next leader of the Solar Eclipse pack is a puny little weakling."

By the end of his speak I was almost in tears but I didn't want to give him that satisfaction so I cleared my eyes of any tears and made sure not to cry and swallowed the lump in my throat.

"Well maybe dear father I do have a mate. And if I do or do not when it is time for me to take over this pack I will tell the elders that will be attending of the crime that you have committed and make sure that you will never ever be heard of again." I said that with so much venom in my voice that my wolf was yipping with joy at my fathers face expression. I then spit on my fathers face and kneed his stomach and then stood while keeping my guard up.

"Y-You wouldn't d-dare of doing th-that." He replied with fear in his voice and his face paler than a vampires.

I walked up to him, "Oh, but I would dear father there's a lot of things that I will dare doing when I take the position of leader for this pack. And there's a lot of things that you don't know about me."

WHOO CHAPTER ONE IS DONE. HAHA. SO YOU GOT TO SEE WHAT RUBYS LIFE WAS LIKE WHEN SHE WAS 8 AND 20. I'M SORRY IF THERE ARE MISTAKES AND I'M ALSO SORRY IF THE FLASHBACK IS CRINGEY, PLEASE DO KEEP IN MIND THAT I TRIED TO MAKE IT WAS 8 YEAR OLD-ISH AS POSSIBLE.
