The Queen

Chapter 3

After getting out the shower, I was feeling great but my mood immediately soured as I heard my fathers voice in my head. That means that he's using the mind link. He only would talk to me through it to give a warning. But this time it wasn't just for me, it was for the whole pack. 

"Everyone must be at the Meeting Grounds in 30 minutes. And when I say everyone I mean everyone. A very important message must be announced."

Ugh, wasn't I just lucky to have such a great and loving father. I already knew that the very important meeting was about me turning 20. You see in every Alpha King pack as soon as their children turn 20 they go in search of their mates, but that's only if they haven't found them yet. Clearing every thought from my head I threw on my underwear and a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt that was made of cotton and was a light mint green color. As I exited the bathroom I put on some makeup but made it a natural look. I twisted to stands of hair back and held them with bobby pins. My hair wasn't completely straight or curly, it was more or less in natural waves. So I kept the rest down. I put on my converse and was about to get my backpack when I heard someone knock on my door.

As I was walking towards the door it burst open and my best friend Lillian walked in.

"Uhhhmmm, hey Lil, wassup."

"Nothing much. But enough about me. HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUBY!!!!!!" She danced around me and danced and sang Happy Birthday to me and then handed me my present. It was a scrapbook full of pictures of me and Elliot and her when we were younger. I thought that half of these pictures went missing. When I was done flipping through the book I had tears running down my face and I'm pretty sure my makeup was ruined.

"Do you like it Ruby?" Lillian asked with so much hope in her voice.

I kept my face neutral when I answered "No, no I don't like it." Her face dropped and all the hope that she had disappeared. " I don't like it because I love it!!!" I more or less screamed at her. "You're crazy if you actually believed that I didn't like it. Lillian seriously this is like the best present I've ever gotten ever." She blushed at my compliment and then she threw herself at me and started bawling her eyes put like she was told the world was going to end tomorrow if she didn't choose between Liam Hemsworth or Chris Hemsworth. I wrapped my arms around her and started crying too.

After a good 7 minutes she pulled away and when I looked at her I couldn't help the laugh that escaped my lips. She looked like a clown, with mascara running down her cheeks and her lipstick smudged and her hair all over the place. Her eyes were bloodshot and puffy. But I can't complain about how she looked, because I'm pretty sure I looked the exact same.

"Kay, so I've got to go change and redo my makeup and hair, but seriously Rube I'm going to miss you." I nodded in agreement and gave her one last squeeze. I closed the door after her when she left my room and breathed out a sigh. Lillian was my friend since I was two weeks old because she was the Beta's daughter and everything. You have to give her props for staying strong this whole time. As soon as she turned 17 she found out that Elliot was her mate. And a few days later he had to go. That was a little bit more than three years ago, but El never came back. Lil thought he was dead but I knew he wasn't. I would find him and make them reunite so they can be my Beta's.

I took my shirt off and put another one on that looked the exact same. I redid my makeup and hair. When I looked at the clock I realized I only had less than 10 minutes to get there and I got out and walked down to the Meeting area.

As I walked up to the stage people made a path way for me and bowed their heads down in submission and respect. My wolf made me keep my head held high in the air. As people lifted their heads up I received many glares and nasty looks, my wolf was surfacing and was about to growl but I forced her to the back of my mind.

When I finally got to the stage and climbed the steps I realized that it was time for the ceremony to start, and my father approached the stage and climber the steps and he reached the podium and started to talk into the microphone.

"Welcome members of the Solar Eclipse pack to the crowning of the new Alpha. Since we are the biggest pack in all of North America and my eldest child is a female, your new Alpha will be a female so let's welcome the Alpha Queen of the Solar Eclipse pack." There was cheering but the loudest cheering was coming from Lillian. "Now there will be some rules. Alpha Ruby's mate will become the Alpha King five months after she finds him. She will go in search of him and when she finds him she will contact me. When the five months are over she will bring her mate and who she has chosen as Beta and Gamma. Are there any protests or questions?"

Nobody said or did anything. All that I saw were some glaring faces, some lustful faces, and some faces that showed no emotion. I spotted Lillian in the crowd and she was smiling so wide that I was worried that her face was going to split in half.

My father nodded and dismissed everyone. As soon as he saw that everyone was gone he turned to me and whatever kind emotion that was on his face vanished and it got replaced with a scowl of disappointment and anger. "Listen here girl, don't do anything to disappoint me, in fact don't even think about it. I have notified all the other Alpha's in North America that you will be searching for you mate in their territory. But don't expect me to create war with them if they accidentally kill you because you're a sorry excuse for an Alpha Queen." He came so close to me that I could actually smell the stench of alcohol and coffee in his breath. The combination of both drinks almost had me gagging and throwing up what I had for dinner last night since I didn't get to eat any breakfast this morning.

"Maybe if you die you can go join your sorry excuse for a mother and brother in hell."

And with that he turned on his heels and walked off the stage and back into the house in which the Alpha family lived in. Not everybody knew about the abuse, only my mom and brother and Lillian and of course my sorry excuse for a father. My mom because of well you know, my brother because he walked into my father beating me with a belt, and that was when I was 12, two years after the abusing started. And Lillian knew because she threatened that if I didn't tell her why I was so depressed all the time she wouldn't be my friend anymore, so I had to because I really needed her in my life.

With those thoughts in my head I also walked to the house and went to pack a bag of stuff I needed.

Authors Note- Whoo I AM TIRED. My fingers and hand and wrists are about to break off. Soooo what do you think of this chapter, or the book. Sorry if the chapter is kinda crappy, I had writers block. But if you think that I should change some stuff comment it or message me or whatever. If there are any grammar mistakes please tell me, I'm awful at grammar so yeah. P.S. that's Lillian up there, so if you don't like my characters please be free to let you imagination go wild.
