Part 15: Riley

Everyone is here.
My mom, Auggie, Lucas, Farkle, Zay, Smackle, Katy, even dad.
When he heard that I ran away, he came back.
He had to look for me, because even if he was fighting with my mom, he really cares about me.
Tension is in the air, but the important thing is, he's there.
Just one person is missing.
I continue to cry nonstop.

Everyone here is trying to comfort me, but I know at the same time that they're equally worried about Maya.

Suddenly we hear the door unlocking.
Everyone turns to face it, except me.
I remain in my position, my gaze to the floor.

I hear the door open in a slow, cautious manner.
Then a couple of footsteps step inside the apartment.
Everyone is silent, but I don't bother looking up.
Suddenly, somebody speaks.
Not just anybody.
I would know that voice anywhere.

"Hi guys. I'm home."

I stand up slowly, my back turned to the door with my eyes to the ground. I then feel everyone gaze shift to me.
Slowly, I turn around.
Then I see her.
Then we run.

"Peaches, is that you?!" I cry tears of joy, pulling Maya into a hug.
"Yes, yes! It's me Riles!" she says, returning my hug.
Then we finally pull apart and look at each other.

Maya turns to her mother, whose eyes are filled with tears.
"Mom" is all she says.
Katy's tears start flowing as she pulls Maya into a tight hug.

Then we turn to everyone else, then they all run.
Greetings turn out everywhere.
Even Smackle runs to hug Maya, who gets very surprised.
Then Maya goes up to my dad.
I get surprised, because he actually hugs her.

That's when we notice that Maya's not alone.
My dad is the first to speak of course.

"Shawn? Shawnie?" he asks.
"It's me Cory" says Shawn.
They embrace each other.

Suddenly, a voice interrupts.
"Shawn?"
I see Uncle Shawn freeze, then we all turn around to the voice.
"I believe you have some explaining to do" says Katy.
