Piece By Piece (GMW Fanfic)

Part 7: Riley

I'm crying.
I've become Maya.
I'm lost, I don't even know where I am.
I'm sitting on a bench in the middle of New York City. Far from home.
I don't even know how to get back.
Once I started running, I didn't stop. I ran for about an hour, calling Maya's name, never stopping. Only stopping when I figured out what I was doing was useless. When I stopped, I had no idea where I was. And since I turned off my location services on my phone, it doesn't know the way I went. It can find me now, but it's useless, since I'm not even coming home.
I get out my phone and check the time.
7:14 pm.
I figure that I should at least text Smackle, so I do. I get a reply a few minutes later. Everything is okay so far. Moms really worried but Smackle assured her that I'm perfectly fine. I'm not sure about that though. My dad...still isn't home... I let a few tears fall. My mom and dad have loved each other and have been together for like...forever! Like...since they were kids!
I don't want me and Maya to tear them apart. I think it's because...my mom considered Maya as one of her own. Like my sister. And my dad saying those kind of things about my "sister", that may have gotten her.
Now I'm here, on a bench, occasionally hiding from people passing by.
I look around me. There's no train station nearby, and the only thing nearby is a convenience store. I bought some chips there a while ago. All the chips are gone by now.
I lay down on the bench and look at the sky. No stars here, it's the city. And that's when I notice something on the light post. I stand up to see it clearer. A red light flashes.
I make out a form of a camera. Oh! A CCTV!
At least if something happens, it will be recorded. I breathe out a sigh of relief. I feel safer. I lay down again. And I fall asleep.
