"I understand your situation, and I'm happy that you've decided to return to the school."
In the principal's office of Gekkoukan High School, the doctor with brown hair and light brown eyes smiled gently in gratitude," I do hope that you'll be able to accommodate her after everything that's happened." The principal - known as Kaito Yanagihori - nodded in reassurance, looking to the returning student. Her long, chocolate hair had bangs held up by bright red hair clips, and her matching eyes showed a hint of hesitance despite her small smile. Kaito frowned, his silver mustache following the movements of his lips," Please, do not be afraid to tell me if anything needs to be addressed, Sakakibara-san. I assure you that the events of two years ago will not repeat; I give you my word." The girl's smile grew just a tad, and she could feel his gaze on the dirty, off white scarf that was around her neck. Kaito continued his best to make sure that she would definitely be returning to his institution," We've informed the staff of your condition, and give you our full support to use whatever means necessary to make your student life a successful and stress-free one." The girl stared at him before smiling a bit more, nodding in agreement to this. Kaito let out a sigh of relief, laughing lightly as if he remembered something ridiculous," Oh, yes, I must ask you this: you were a student with many others before you were hospitalized. Is there someone in particular you would like to help you re-acclimate to the school?" He watched as her eyes became dull and seemed to gaze at something faraway, and he became worried that he had caused her condition to flare. But instead, the girl grinned and her phone spoke:
"I'm sorry, but I do not remember his name."
Momiji Sakakibara accompanied her doctor off of the school grounds, looking up to him as he smiled softly," I know that you're concerned about what the principal said and that you're healthy enough, but there's no reason to not just graduate in an online academy." She returned his smile, her fingers texting furiously on an app on her phone; a robot voice answered for him," Still, I want to be able to enjoy my time as a senior surrounded by possible friends." The doctor, Ayame Watanabe, pat the top of her head gently," I'll do a thorough check on your scars another time, but I'd like to take a quick peek at the one under your scarf." Though embarrassed, Momiji agreed immediately, letting her scarf come loose enough for him to glance at her neck. There, on the sides of her neck were multiple crescent-shaped scars. Four decorated each side of her neck, creating a total of eight. The remaining two created a mirror pattern along the side of her throat; Ayame's gaze became saddened and furious at this. Momiji, sensing the older man's agitation, quickly covered up her disfigurement," How do they look?" He shook himself out of his daze and gave a smile of assurance," No sign of change, but be sure to come straight to me if they begin to bother you."
"Now, I'll ask you this one more time: are you absolutely sure you want to do this? There's no guarantee to what he said, nor is there any absolute chance that you'll regain your missing memories."
"No, but if I don't do anything to change myself, then nothing will ever happen."
