"The mysterious string of murders have been stumping the authorities ever since the first civilian casualty," said the blond news reporter with a stony expression.
"The newest victim,a young man with a criminal track of fights and abuse named Gilliam Ashwood, was found dead in an abandoned alleyway,in order to meet his girlfriend, with his heart carved out and carcass twisted in horribly unnatural ways. The same symbol was above him as usual,a seven. This time, there was a flowery scent in the air, along with the large seven being painted with the man's own blood. We have had news that each of the six variations are each a sign of a different member of this gang of murderers, along with a gold coin resting in the victim's mouth, the entrails of the victim forming the calling card,a significant amount of toxins in the bloodstream, and a torn-up paper holding the group's past whereabouts.
Who will be their next target? Remember to lock your doors and windows at night, and to always stick with someone when going out. This is Anne Winter, and back to you Parker."
E.J. sighed and turned off the large TV. This was getting way out of hand. Sally and Lazari began to pull on his sleeves. He turned to the girls. "What is it?"
Sally pouted, her precious demonic teddy bear Charlie clutched in her arms. "When will you play with us?"
"It's been two hours!" , Lazari whined loudly. "Come ON!" E.J. turned towards L.J. expectantly.
"L.J., you're good with kids. YOU play with them." The swirly-nosed clown shook his head.
"I'm going out to kill. Slendy's orders," he called out to the gray-skinned man.E.J. groaned and got up from the leather couch. "I need to inform Slenderman about this. THEN I'll play with you. Got it?"
Lazari gave him a shy little smile. "Okay,E.J." The young man gave her a rare smile of his own and ruffled her long brown locks.
"Good. Thanks," he murmured and set off towards the faceless being's office. He paused, resting his hand on the mahogany door. There was someone else in there other than Slenderman. He could hear them arguing.
"Slender,I'm not lying to you. They ARE the culprits!",a soft, male voice reasoned.
"Preposterous! The Seven Sins are merely the stuff of rumors and legend. Nothing more.THEY. DON'T. EXIST." The other person sighed."Fine. But at least prepare yourself. We're supposed to be mere rumor and legend, remember?" The voice sounded disheartened. "This book has all you need to know."
The ruffling of pages filled E.J.'s mind. Slenderman's voice seemed baffled. "How did you-"
"I have my ways,"the mysterious male chuckled. E.J. decided that now would be a good time to come in. He turned the knob and stepped in silently. The two others didn't notice him until he began using his echolocation in order to gather his bearings.
Both figures winced audibly from the high-pitched noise that most couldn't hear. The other being was a tall male with messy hair and feathered wings. Two large stag horns sat atop his head. Strange.
"Um,Slenderman? I have an...important matter to speak to you about." He stood there awkwardly in the uncomfortable silence. The mysterious male broke the tension.
"I'll take my leave now,Slender. But please read the book. You may be one of the next targets."With this grim warning,he gave them a quick bow and disappeared behind a cloud of gray mist. When it finally dissipated,he was gone without a trace. Sighing deeply,Slenderman opened the book to the first page. "What is it,dear child?",he inquired.
E.J. hung his head, the black goo dripping onto the once-pristine bamboo floor.
"The man was right. I...found out who the next victim is." Slenderman leaned forward."Wonderful! Wait...what do you mean by the man was right?"
"I found out, with careful observation, that each of the victims were marked before their murders. By a name,be it Wrath,Lust,Greed,Gluttony,Envy or Pride." He paused for a second.
"Sometimes there were more than one. Today,I found our door marked by all six names."Slenderman was silent. "So he was right,again...",he mumbled.
"What do you mean?"
"I believe that I know exactly who we're up against. And the odds are definitely against us."
*Meanwhile,at an unknown location*
"So did you do it?",asked Wrath to Envy, her wild crimson curls waving in the wind. The mocha girl sighed in annoyance.
"Yes,Wrath. It has been done." Her stony face broke into a wide grin. "Just remember to keep the masked Arkensaw girl for me,okay?"
It would be interesting to keep such a young vengeful murderer for observation. Maybe she could even find more ways to kill from her.
"Personally,I want a one-on-one fight with the feared, infamous Jeff the Killer,"commented the fiery Irish woman. Envy's grin faded into a knowing smirk. Wrath had wanted to fight him as soon as she had heard about the smiling psycho from the news.
But she'd have to keep her younger sister from the Slender Brother known as Offenderman. Lust may be like a more powerful version of a succubus, but she was still female. Therefore, she was still vulnerable.
"I wonder what Eyeless Jack would taste like,"mused Gluttony. The British man twirled a butcher knife in his hands. He was probably dreaming of the meal he'd make of the kidney-eater.
Envy frowned. The demon could be useful in other ways instead of as food.
"Can I keep Sally and Lazari as my playmates?",piped up Lucas. He hated being called by his Sin,Sloth,so they had just gotten used to calling him by the name from his old life. He cocked his head to the left, silky curls falling to his chin.
Lust chuckled. "Sure,Lucas. It wouldn't be bad to have another few kids around." Her chocolaty complexion was clear and silky-smooth. It was no wonder that so many fell for her.
Pride puffed out his chest. "I bet that I can take down more of them than you guys,"he boasted. His scarlet hair was mussed up,as usual.
"We should get some sleep,"reasoned Greed in a bored tone. His golden hair was swept over his lovely glittering blue and green eyes.
He was right,it was getting late.
Envy gave him a small smile, and he turned slightly pink on the ears and his high cheekbones. Huh. She shrugged it off,and headed into the small cottage they called home. After a few steps, the young teen looked back at the others. "You guys coming?"
