Chapter 8

(It's still Max's POV)

Amber sat up.

"Herobrine?" she repeated somberly. "I know nothing, but I do know someone who does."

"Who?" I asked.

"Notch."

"Take me to him."

We left a sign by the table that read Amber and I went to visit Notch. We'll be back soon. Then, we walked out the door. The sun was in the midst of rising. 

"Over here!" called Amber from the other side of the house. I walked over there just as she was putting down a boat. We hopped in and sailed into the horizon.

(Skylar's POV)

"So he left with Amber. Think he likes her?"

"Shut up Fred. They're just visiting Notch."

"Or so they say!"

*SLAP* 

I opened my eyes. The voices I heard belonged to Ameli and Fred. Wait. I didn't hear Max's voice. Or Amber's. I sat up. Then I faked a yawn to get their attention. It worked. They immediately turned towards me, but continued their fighting only a second later. I stood up and walked over to the table. There was a sign on it. I read the sign. (A/N You know what the sign says. It's the one that Max wrote.) I broke a piece off of a loaf of bread and ate it, pretending not to be the least bit annoyed that Max left with Amber. Why didn't he even say goodbye? I mean, he just LEFT. To distract myself, I made breakfast.

"Who wants cake?" I called to Ameli and Fred. Fred sprinted to the table, staring at the cake. He was practically drooling! Ameli walked slowly to the table and sat down. She ate the cake slowly whereas Fred was devouring it messily. I ate a bit of cake, but couldn't stop thinking about what Max and Amber were doing.

(Max's POV)

~Time Skip 3 hours~

We finally arrived at an island after hours of sailing.

"Is this it?" I asked Amber eagerly.

"No" she said. "The next one." I groaned. We walked around the island and Amber put down another boat. 

"Here we gooo!" she shouted as the boat left the shore. Yipee! More sailing (A/N "Yipee! More sailing" was sarcasm).

~Time Skip 1 hour~

We had been sailing for an hour. A whole hour. A long, boring hour. I had to keep reminding myself that learning about Herobrine was worth it. And that I would have a chance to meet Notch. Notch. I whispered the name to myself. It sounded powerful, but not too powerful. It sounded....cool. Then I started thinking of cool names. Lauren, Gray, Skylar, Zack.....um....Wait! Skylar! I wonder what she's doing right now...I imagined her sitting at the table with Ameli and Fred, eating baked potatoes. No! I thought. They're not doing any of that! She's probably worried sick!  Or really mad! I didn't even say a proper "goodbye! She's gonna hate me!"  My thinking was stopped by a scream. Amber's scream. I turned around quickly and saw her pointing at a squid and shrieking. I guess she'd afraid of squids. I pulled out a budder sword, climbed over to her and killed the squid. She breathed a sigh of relief and we continued sailing. But we sailed right into a shoal of squid. Amber nearly fainted, but I slashed them with my sword. They kept coming. I was waiting for the moment when they would all be dead and we could keep sailing, but that moment never came. At least, not for a half hour. That half hour felt like a year. But I finally killed them all and we continued.
