 Chapter 9

~Time Skip 1 Month~

(Skylar's POV)

It was late at night. I heard the hisses of creepers in the distance. And the moans of zombies. The creeper's hissing became closer, and closer, and closer still. It was walking over here. I jumped out of bed (my leg had healed in the past month) and snatched a golden sword. I knew that I had to kill it or it would explode and our base would be gone. My foot kicked the door open, and I arrived there just in time to see that creeper explode. And that's the last thing I saw. Well, not the last thing. A second before I blacked out, I saw a person with cold white eyes. That's when I blacked out.

(Max's POV)

The morning light burned through my eyelids. I opened them and sat up to escape the sun's rays. Then I yawned.

"Good morning Skylar," I said, walking over to her bed. But she wasn't there.

"Fred! Have you seen where Skylar went?" I asked.

"No," he answered. "Maybe she went outside?" I walked over to the front door only to find the front door and the wall and everything in a five foot radius was gone.

"What the...?" I heard a voice behind me. It was Fred. Apparently he knew nothing about this. Then I heard him whisper, "Creepers." Well that creeper had left a pretty big ditch. I decided to collect the dirt. But when I peered into the ditch, I saw Skylar. She was laying unconscious in a pool of blood and had a golden sword piercing her skin, dangerously close to her heart. I could barely breathe.

"S-Skylar!" I called. I knew that it wouldn't do any good to anyone. The only thing I could do to help right now was bring inside. I jumped into the hole and carried her bridal style into the house. She was surprisingly light. Placing her on her bed, I carefully extracted the sword. She winced, a sign that she was still alive. But I couldn't comfort her. She wouldn't hear me. I wrapped some gauze around her chest where the sword had landed. A note fell from her person. I read it: I'M COMING, AND SHE'S MY FIRST TARGET!  -HEROBRINE. I folded the note and put it in my pocket. (A/N Don't expect Herobrine in this book. He'll have a much bigger role in the sequel. Hint hint!)

~Time Skip 3 Weeks and to 5:30~

The clock on the wall read 5:30 A.M. I looked over at Skylar. She had stopped tossing and turning hours ago. I crawled out of bed. The floor creaked as I tip-toed over to Skylar's bed. It had been over three weeks since what happened and Skylar had shown no signs of becoming conscious again. I felt her fore-head. Freezing. So cold. Was she still...alive? Hesitantly, I put my hand over her heart. It wasn't beating. Skylar was definitely dead.

A/N

I killed off the main character, how do you like that? Also, I mentioned a sequel. That won't be out for a while. And sorry for the short chapter.
