Chapter 6

(Max's POV)

I yawned and sat up in my bed. Fred, Ameli and Amber were seated at the table, talking. Skylar was still asleep. I made sure Fred wasn't watching, then I pet her hair and kissed her cheek lightly. But when I turned around, Fred was standing there with a smug look on his face.

"I knew it. She is your girlfriend."

"No she's not! We-we're just friends!"

"Yeah. Friends kiss friends in their sleep." he said sarcastically. "Maybe you two aren't a couple, but you definetly want to be in one with her. Admit it." 

I didn't know what to say, so I was relieved when I heard Sky wake up behind me and I asked Fred to ask me later. Luckily, Fred agreed, but he said that next time, whether Skylar was there or not, I had to answer.

Suddenly, Amber ran in screaming, "I found butter! I found butter!" Then Fred started chanting, "Butter! Butter! Budder!" even Ameli seemed excited. 

"Butter?" I asked.

"It's gold, but gold ingots look like sticks of butter," explained Ameli.

"But isn't the term "butter" created by skydoesminecraft? How does Amber know that if she was born here?"

"I told her," Ameli answered.

"Hurry! There's a whole butter mine!" called Amber. We followed her down some stairs and entered a cave made with mostly gold. "To make up for destroying the diamond mine." But Amber hadn't brought pickaxes. Fortunately, Skylar limped down the stairs with pickaxes. She then passed them out and we mined the gold for hours. Eventually, we had mined it all and we made swords and armor. It was very late when we had finished and we barely had time for dinner, which was chicken, and for dessert, pumpkin pie. Soon, it was time for bed. Skylar usually stays up pretty late, but today she fell asleep early. Not too early, around the same time we all did, which was early for her. When I was sure she was asleep, I pet her hair again and kissed her cheek softly. 

"I'm still awake!" Fred whisper-yelled in a sing-song voice. "Admit it!" He stood up and walked over to me. I turned around to make sure that Skylar wasn't awake.

"Yes," I whispered. "I-it would nice. But please don't tell Sky!"

"How cute! You already gave her a pet name! Fine. I won't tell her what you said." He had a mischievous grin on his face, but his fingers weren't crossed. He was obviously planning to say something, but what?

(Skylar's POV)

I woke up the next morning and noticed that the only other person awake was Fred. He was sitting at the table. I stood up and walked over there.

"Good morning Fred," I said.

"Good morning. Hey, guess what Max called you!" he responded. Max? What did he say about me? Was it something mean, because that would make me sad, considering that I have a crush on Max.

"W-what did he say?" I asked.

"He called you Sky." Fred answered. Sky? Is that a nick name? Well I like it! But was he calling me Sky as a friendly nick name or more of a pet name? I hope as a pet name!
