"I'm sorry, but you think this is ugly?" Jenny scoffed, holding up a wretched, orange bikini. She shook it as the holographic patches on the back of the bottom half changed color, and I gagged jokingly.

"It's horrible, you might as well wear a trash bag!" I laughed, walking over to the swimming aisle. Running my fingers along each swim suit, and I picked up a blush colored two piece.

"That is actually gorgeous!"  She gushed, waving her hands excitedly.

"And it's gonna be mine,"  I extolled, clutching it to my chest.

"But Rae! I'm the one looking for a swim suit," Jenny protested, throwing the orange one on the ground. I shrugged, and jogged towards the counter, to make sure Jen couldn't get it before me. I paid for it and thanked the cashier and walked back over to Jenny.

"Too late,"  I taunted, swinging the plastic bag over my shoulder.

"Bitch," she muttered, but said loud enough for me to hear.

"Let's find you one then," I offered, pulling her towards the rest of the swimming items.

"Fine, but I need to look good for when I go to California."

"Here's a nice orchid colored number," I suggested, smiling and gesturing my head towards it. Her mouth perked up, and she grabbed it from my hand.

"Yes please."

We sifted through many other swim suits, but she agreed on the first one I showed her. We left after what seemed hours. She dropped me off home, and when I started to walk up to the door, Ryder got out of his friends car, in his McDonald's uniform.

"Rae, wait up!" Ryder called, taking off his cap, letting his unruly hair, flow into his shoulders. "Please Rae."

"Look, I know you were drunk, and I know you are sorry, but I'm still pissed!"

"I know that. But just hear me out!" He screeches.

I turned around, looking him straight in the eye. "No, I won't hear you out until you fix all the things you've messed up in your life."

"Fine, that's what I'm gonna do!" He affirmed.

"Good, after all that is done, then you can talk to me," I spit, storming back inside, making sure I avoided the path of Ryder, but he turned the same direction as I did, and sat next to me on the bar stools. Mom turned around, and gasped loudly, dropping a glass in the process.

"Ryder, are you feeling alright?" She asked worryingly, feeling his forehead with the back of her hand.

"I just wanted to say a quick hello," he told her, giving me a quick glance.

"Well I'm glad you did," she marvelled at the sight him, her mouth agape. "We miss you honey."

He nodded, giving Mom a sheepish smile, and went back up to his room.

"That was...weird," she hesitantly said, picking up the shards of glass.

"Extremely." I commented, walking over to help pick up the glass.

"I have no idea what's gotten into him!" She sighed, her voice laced with slight sarcasm. She put the remaining shards in the garbage, and smiles at me, getting back to washing the dirty dishes.

"Oh and remember, Jonah is coming home this week for your birthday," she reminded me. "So clean his room up!"

"Why do I have to clean his dirty-ass room!" I groaned, my face in disgust.
