The events of earlier have been bugging me. What if that was the last time I'll ever see her? What if she goes to Dauntless? Or stays in Abnegation? What if we never meet?
I'm pacing back and for the in my apartment, worried, when Zeke lets himself in.
"Dude, you've been pacing for a half hour. What's up?" He says.
I stop and look up at him.
"How do you know I've been pacing?"
"It's my day to work in the control room." He says.
"Oh." I mumble.
In Divergence, jobs are divided up, and you are assigned one each day. Today was my day of, which is probably for the better.
"What's going on?" He inquires again.
I sigh and give in. "Was Tris in your simulation?" I ask.
"Tris... Oh yeah. Your girlfriend" he winks at me and I roll my eyes. "Why?"
"I'm worried about her. About us. What if she doesn't choose Divergence? What if she stays in Abnegation. Or what if she goes to Dauntless like she did in the simulation and I never see her again?" With this, I plop down into a chair.
"Dude. Your stressing over a girl? C'mon, just get a girlfriend that's already here."
"No." I say simply.
"Why not? If your stressing over a girl that's not even here, get a girl that is here and stress over her."
"Because it'd feel wrong. Like...cheating I guess." I say.
"Wait, so your worried about a girl you never with in the first place?" he says, confused.
"Yes! No! I don't know. It's complicated." I'm getting frustrated now. I know Zeke means well, but why can't he just leave me alone?
"Dude. You sound like a woman." He says while trying to hold in a laugh.
"Thanks bro," I say sarcastically, "I feel a lot better now."
"Look man, I just don't want you to become a depressed wreck over a woman."
"She's not just a woman. She's..... I don't know. She's something else. She more than just another girl. She's important. She's..." I trail off, not because I can't think if anything else, I can, trust me, but because he's right. If I say it, I will sound like a woman.
I sigh. I have to own up to it.
"She's everything." I say while looking at the ground.
I look up, and Zeke has this stupid grin on his face.
"What?" I ask him.
"I just think it's funny how you care so much about a girl you've never been with."
I throw a pillow at him. "You'd do the same thing if it was Shauna."
At this, he goes red with embarrassment. "I uh, gotta go." He says quickly.
He turns to leave, but just before he reaches the door, he turns back to me.
"You know, if she's any bit as intelligent in reality as she was in the simulation, she'll go here. Don't worry about it."
With that, he walks out the door.

So this was really just another filler chapter cuz I'm not sure where I'm gonna go with this story after Tris arrives (she will arrive, I'm not gonna do that to y'all :P) and I was gonna get her in the story in the next chapter, so this is to read while I think :)
