"Wake up!"
The command echoed through the room. He couldn't stand being treated like this. It was embarrassing and belittling.
"Mum!" he whined, "I'm tired of this happening every damn day,"
"I wouldn't do it if you were able to get that ass of yours off the bed without my intervention," she said and pulled his body off the bed.
It was only a fact that Kiba couldn't wake up early enough for school. He was so stressed out thinking about his bestfriend and the police force not finding anything was enough to turn him into an overly depressed being. The day was gloomy for him, despite it being so sunny. He stood up and quickly freshened up.
"See you later mum," he dreadfully said as he left the house.
The school grounds came into view as he walked out of the fields. He scratched the back of his head and walked on, with his black headsets plugged into his ears and 'Gasoline' by Halsey booming through .
He finally got into class and took his seat in the back.
"Today clocks the third month of his disappearance Kiba, still think he's gonna be back soon?"
That voice always put him on edge. The girl never really knew how to mind her own business. It wasn't any secret that Naruto had been missing for some time now but it still wasn't her problem. If there was any way Kiba could help, he would have, he just didn't know where to start from. The pink haired banshee expected a snarky remark but it never came. His hope was hanging on a thread and arguing with her would just bring him back to the cruel reality.
It was October 6th and she wasn't wrong when she said that very day marked the third month of Naruto's kidnap. This shocked Kiba, why would Sakura even keep track of the boy's absence. Before his mind could wander any further on the matter he received the response to his unasked question.
"Kiba, I didn't ask that question to mock you," she said in a very soft voice that it sounded foreign.
"Then why? You've mocked me before, now wouldn't be any different. I don't wanna hear your blabber, so please just stop," he snapped at her, "you're such a horrible person, taking comfort in people's misfortunes. Makes me wonder if you're human, you've changed a lot Sakura.... You really have,"
She stared at him wide eyed. Everything he said was true, she couldn't counter it even if she wanted to. She got mixed up with the wrong crowd and was eventually considered to be part of the wrong crowd, after all, 'birds of a feather flock together.' Shame is what she felt and she was one to regret her actions but the person she portrayed to others wasn't even the least bothered by her actions. Disgusting, she thought and she was sure that, that was what everyone thought of her too.
"You don't understand, I'm here to apologize. I know my actions towatds you and the situation at hand wasn't right. I'm ashamed to say that leaving you and Naruto when we got here was the biggest mistake of my life because you always treated me like family. I'm very sorry," she said with her head low in shame, "We just have to find Naruto now. I have to apologize to him too. His birthday's coming up soon,"
To say that Kiba was shocked was an understatement, he never thought this day would come. All Sakura ever wanted was popularity and now that she's reached the top, she's regretting it.
Kiba wasn't stupid, he knew when he was being fooled and this out of the fooling occurrences wasn't one of them. He knew this because she apologized in the presence of people in class. She wouldn't do that if she wasn't really sorry."Why'd you leave us? We were bestfriends. All you cared about were the people looking at you and not the ones that actually cared for you," he felt some old wounds reopen and all he wanted to do was leave, "you know what? Fuck this all," he said and walked out of the room.
