For about two months now, the girl had been coming to the coffee shop, each day looking sadder than the last. It was one terribly snowy winter, when there was a huge blizzard, and the shop was literally empty, except for Namjoon, whose boss was a horrible jerk and made him work despite the bad weather. Namjoon was at the café, waiting for a customer, when the bells on the door jingled, and he looked up expectantly.
He had been folding an origami paper heart with post-it notes of all sizes that could be found all over the café. Setting the half-made heart down in the stack he was working on, he took in the girl's appearance. He noticed that she had been crying, because of the frozen drops of water on her cheeks that could be mistaken for melted snowflakes. But it didn't fool Namjoon. He had an IQ of 148, after all, and he saw that her face had been wrapped in a scarf until she came in and took it off, therefore meaning no snow could have touched her face.
He made her usual order, the caramel latte. She took it with a small bow, before going to her usual seat and trying to warm her hands by clutching her cup of coffee. Her sulky expression had not been replaced, and she would have been pretty if not for the sadness clearly visible in her eyes and facial features.
He wondered what possible could have happened to make her so sad. Was is because...maybe her boyfriend or girlfriend cut the strings with her? Did someone die?
He bit his lip, wondering what possible could have happened. Glancing down at his stack of paper hearts, he picked one up that was pale pink, before analyzing it.
Taking a look at the girl, who was still lost in her own world, Namjoon suddenly had an idea.
