The picture at the top of the chapter (All rights go to the owner, as with all the art I use) isn't what I imagine the characters to look like but it does represent how Bandit messes about because he's a pup. Anyway, enjoy!

Bandit was a nightmare. Nothing else needed saying. Eclipse was about to lose his temper with him as well.

"Kid! If you don't stop fu- messing about, I'm going to eat you alive!" He yelled. Bandit whined and moved next to Eclipse, trotting along beside him. Eclipse soon realized that the pup was staring at him so he stopped walking.
"What is it?" He asked, sighing.
"Oh... nothing," Bandit replied, looking down at the floor.
"Well it's something..." Eclipse said, "so spill."
"It's just... no one has ever had the time to look after me, so thank you."
"Um, you're welcome, I guess."
They started walking again, heading further down into the valley.

The two didn't talk for a long while, each trapped in their own thoughts. Eclipse was thinking about the wolves that had been chasing him and Bandit was thinking about his family. The family he had never met. Both of them jumped when a raven landed on a tree branch nearby; carking harshly. Eclipse shook himself, heading onwards. Bandit paused for a second, eyeing the raven before following his new-found friend.

After a while, they started to feel like they were being watched. Eclipse's head lowered and he became cautious. Bandit saw that he was nervous and also became cautious. The both of them would flinch whenever a twig snapped and quite frankly looked as nervous as two deer, walking in an open field.

All of a sudden, a wolf leaped out of nowhere; smacking Eclipse to the ground. Snarling, the new wolf let him up, more wolves appearing and starting to circle Eclipse and Bandit. Eclipse lowered his head with a snarl where as Bandit pressed himself to the ground, fearing for his life.

The wolf that had attacked Eclipse was the first to speak.
"Who are you and what are you doing in our territory?!" He growled, his voice incredibly gruff.
Trying to seem confident, Eclipse replied with, "My name is Eclipse, this is Bandit. We were not aware that we were crossing someone else's territory up until now."
"What? Can't you smell?" Another of the wolves snapped sarcastically.
"I can but the scents were old, I presumed that a pack had passed through here, not that a pack lived here," Eclipse explained calmly, not giving too much of a reaction. This only angered the wolves more and they continued to circle.

Finally, the wolf that seemed like the alpha, the one that had spoken first, said something else, "We will not harm you... but in exchange I want something."
"What is that?" Eclipse inquired.
"The pup. The one cowering by your feet."
"Why?"
"We have not had pups in so long, you see. It would be nice to have one around again, until i can find a mate and produce my own, that is." The alpha had only partially lied, he wanted a mate and didn't have one yet but he didn't require a pup, he just wanted a punch bag; something to take his anger out on.

Eclipse frowned for a moment before sighing. He looked down at Bandit.
"P- please don't abandon me!" Bandit whispered.
"I'm sorry," Eclipse told him, turning to the alpha, "you've got yourself a deal."
"No!" The juvenile wolf yelled, sprinting away. Eclipse soon caught him and brought him back to the pack, dropping him at the alpha's feet. He didn't say anything, he just turned around and walked away.

Soon after he had exited the valley and was back where he'd started in terms of his mentality; back on his own, running away again.

Author's note: The reason the pack doesn't see that Eclipse is a 'demon' is because his wings only appear if he's jumped off something high up and is falling. The wolves that were chasing him had seen him flying so knew what he could do.
