Emmas POV

After my surgery, I was put into a recovery room where I was currently laying in bed with Harry waiting for Dr. Garcia to come in and let us go home.

There was a knock at the door and it opened up to reveal Dr. Garcia dressed in her khakis and light blue polo.

"Hi Emma, how are you feeling?"

"Okay I guess" How was I suppose to feel? I just lost my first child.

"Good. Well I have good news for you both."

"Good news? What good news could you possibly have for us?" Harry scoffed. That was rude of him but honestly I didn't have the energy to fight with him.

Dr. Garcia's face turned into a frown slightly before she spoke again.

"The good news is Emmas fallopian tubes didn't rupture. So you two are able to get pregnant again."

A wave of relief washed over me, but I couldn't find the strength to smile right now. I was still grieving over our loss.

"I just need you two to restrain from any sexual intercourse for about a month. Just to make sure everything heals correctly." She smiled awkwardly at our emotionless faces and stood from her seat.

We followed her out of the examination room and out into the lobby where she bid us goodbye and we made our way to the front desk.

"Okay Ms. Wright, you're free to go." The nurse at the desk gave us a sad smile after I signed the papers from the surgery, and Harry and I made our way to the front doors of the hospital.

The car ride home was long and completely silent. I kept my thoughts to myself as I looked out the window, watching everyone go on with their lives while mine was put on hold.

Harrys eyes were fixed on the road ahead of us, not looking away once. I watched his knuckles turn white as he gripped the steering wheel tighter and tighter.

I placed my hand on his knee without making a sound and kept it there until we pulled into our driveway.

No words were spoken as we both undressed and got ready for bed. These past few hours had felt like days, and I was worn out. I came out of the bathroom to find our bed room empty.

I walked down the hall into the living room to find Harry sitting on the couch, his eyes bloodshot.

"What did we do wrong?"

"What are you talking about Harry?" I cautiously walked over to the couch and took a seat next to him.

"What did we ever do in life to deserve this?"

"I don't know"

He finally let it out and just cried, which he never does. I pulled him close to me and we cried together. Seconds turned to minutes and by the time we had both calmed down I realized we had been sitting here for over an hour.

"let's get to sleep, it's getting late"

He agreed and we both got up and went to our bedroom.

--

The next morning Harry and I woke up and got ready to meet the boys for a signing. It wasn't going to be easy for him to act like nothing was wrong today, but I'm sure the boys would help him through it.

"Hey daddy Styles, how are ya mate?" Louis smiled as we walked through the lobby doors. Not a good start to the day.

Harrys eyes narrowed and I touched his arm to get his attention. He looked down at me and I smiled a small smile. The tension went away and we greeted everyone like nothing was wrong. We had decided not to tell them until after the signing. One depressed band member is easier to hide than all five. The girls and I are all having some breakfast while the boys are busy, and that's when I'm telling them.

"You all are late. We only have 15 minutes, follow me" Paul came over and dragged the boys away from us before we had a chance to say goodbye.

"I guess that's our cue to head out" El smiled.

Of course, it ended up just being El, Perrie and I. Sophia had other plans today.

"The car should be parked out back. Leaving through the front probably isn't a good idea right now"

El was right, the front lobby was overflowing with directioners; we would never get out.

"So guys, I have some bad news." After we ordered our food and made small talk I had to tell them.

Their eyes were on me, waiting for me to explain. "Harry and I lost the baby yesterday. It was an ectopic pregnancy." Having to actually say it out loud killed me inside. I picked up my napkin and dabbed my eyes before the tears could escape.

"Em, I'm so sorry" Perrie stood up and came over to engulf me in a hug. El followed and mumbled an apology, it sounded like she was holding back tears too.

"How's Harry taking it?"

"Honestly worse than me. I mean, the doctor said we would be able to try again and the chances of it happening again are slim to none. He was a wreck last night, I don't think he got a minute of sleep."

"Well, maybe the signing will cheer him up a bit." El suggested

"I don't know, I feel like the boys are gonna talk about it with him and he's just gonna get even more upset. Did you see his reaction to Lou's greeting when we showed up? I thought we were going to have to leave" I took another sip of my coffee before continuing "I'm just glad he didn't tweet that we were pregnant when he took that picture of my ring. I can't even imagine the fans reactions to this"

"Is he going to tell the boys today?" Perrie asked

I nodded, "Yeah, after the signing is done"

"Zayn's going to be upset, he was so excited to be an uncle."

"Same with Louis. That's all he talked about was having a baby direction in the family" El giggled.

For the first time today I smiled a real smile. I loved hearing how excited everyone was for the baby. Unfortunately it's just going to make things a lot harder once they find out.

After a few moments of silence the bubbliness in the air disappeared, and El and Perrie both wiped tears out of their eyes.

"I was excited too, we were going to be aunts." Perrie whispered, looking over at El.

"Ya know, I never thought I was going to have to experience this. Losing something you created, something you would have given life to." I paused for a moment.

"We would have spoiled that baby rotten" I laughed at the thought.

"We all would have" Perrie smiled

The waitress brought our food a few minutes later and the three of us ate in silence. It was a comfortable silence, not at all awkward. We were all just a bit down today.

Back at the signing location the boys were just coming out when we arrived after lunch and a little bit of shopping.

Thank goodness they were all laughing, including Harry.

"Hi baby" Harry came over to me smiling and kissed my cheek.

"Hi, how was it?" I asked smiling back

"Good, really good"

With his arm around Eleanor's waist, Louis smiled and asked if we all wanted to go back to his flat for a little while. We all nodded enthusiastically, then made our ways to our cars.

"Can you take us to Lou's place?" Harry asked our driver as we slid into the backseat.

"Of course" he nodded before starting the car and pulling out onto the busy London streets.

"Did you tell the girls?"

"Yeah, I told them at lunch. I'm assuming you haven't told the boys yet?"

He shook his head. And we both stayed silent the rest of the way to Louis place.
