Chapter 4

Amy had just finished cooking and was now sitting on the couch.
She jumped when she heard a voice.
"Lazy much?."
Amy put her hand on her chest.
"S-shadow! You almost gave me a heart attack!..."
Shadow walked into the kitchen and grabbed 2 muffins.
"How did you get in here?."
He smiled.
"You left your window open. For a girl who want's to be left alone you sure don't know how to-
Amy didn't let shadow finish she ran to the window closing it.
Amy turned around to see that shadow was fixing to take a bite out of the second muffin.
She glared at him and tapped her foot on the floor
He looked at her with a clueless look.
An innocent look.
" what?. "
She huffed and stuck her nose up in the air.
"To think I actually thought that maybe you had actually been nice enough to give me a muffin."
"Oh..."
He slowly handed Amy the 2nd muffin.
"Here?."
She pushed it away.
"No I don't want it now!."
He shrugged.
"Okay then."
He was about to take a bit out of it but Amy snatched it away.
And took a bite out of it.
"I changed my mind."
Shadow stared at Amy trying to process what had just happened. Then chuckled.
"What's so funny?."
He stopped laughing.
"Nothing.'
Amy shrugged her shoulders and continued to eat the muffin.
Once shadow and Amy were dome eating they sat down on her couch.
Thing's were awkward at first but eventually they warmed up to each other.
Sorta...
"So..."
Shadow said obviously uncomfortable about something.
"Are you through with that blue faker? For real this time?."
Amy's eye's widened she looked at shadow and frowned.
"I want to....but shadow its not as easy as it sounds... I've liked him for a few years now you can't just get over someone *snap* just like that a-heyyyy wait a second.... Shadow why do you care?"
Shadow felt his face heat up he quickly looked away.
"Wha-I don't It's- it's just a question."
Amy sighed and looked down at the floor.
"I bet everyone knows what happened between me and sonic."
Amy felt tears forming in her eye's.
But she didn't want to cry in front of shadow for a second time.
Shadow put a hand on Amy's shoulder.
"What happened Amy?."
Amy wiped a tear away that had fallen.
She turned to shadow.
"At my birthday party...Sonic didn't come he-he got stick's to give his gift to me...it was a necklace that had the word friend's engraved into it...that was his way of telling me he didn't like me the way I like....liked him."
Shadow stood.
He looked mad.
"I'll be right back."
Before he could dash off Amy grabbed his arm.
"Wait! W-where are you going?."
He pulled his arm away.
"To punch sonic. I hate him and he's done a lot of thing's that are worth punching him for but this.
This is it. Its to much. Its ridiculous.
For year's he's been running away from you.
Avoiding you. Hurting you.
I know I'm the bad guy here....but this time its him. Wouldn't you agree Amy Rose?."
Amy had stopped crying.
She stared up at shadow.
And smiled.
"He's always been the bad guy shadow... I was just to blind to see it...let's forget about him. How about we watch some TV? Or play some games? Or maybe talk about our feelings?."
Shadow looked at Amy and smiled.
"I'd love to stick around some more but I've got stuff to do. I'll see you later."
Amy frowned.
"O-okay...bye...oh and shadow?."
"Yeah?."
Shadow was already standing outside the door was wide open.
"Thanks for listening...."
He smiled and left.
Later that night while Amy was sound asleep.
Shadow was wide awake.
He couldn't sleep for some reason.
He tried many times but each time failed.
He stared up at the night sky wondering what was keeping him from sleeping.
He thought about everything that had happened the past few days and his eye's widened.
"Amy."
He whispered to him self.
"No this...that can't be the the reason. It just can't."
