"Mom! I'm home!" Gerard shouted, and I could hear footsteps stepping lightly from the kitchen in the back, and a lovely lady, mid-50's at most, appeared in the doorway.

"Skip school again, Gerard?" She questioned, and I noticed that he sheepishly shrugged. "It was Mikey's boyfriends idea." He huffed out accusingly, and his mother only chuckled and shook her head.

"As long as you make up your work." She spun on her heel, and she was gone.

Before I realized it, a small woah slipped from my lips, and I immediately wanted to take it back, because Gerard looked at me from the corner of his eye, his lips twitching.

"What is it, Frank?" I heard him ask, and my ears twitched as I turned to face him and shook my head.

"It's nothing, Gerard. I just... I didn't know an adult could be that laid back." I admitted, dropping my head so that my eyes looked down at his patterned floor.

"That's just my mom for you. Come on!" He said, his fingers wrapping around my arm. Automatically, I flinched, causing worry to grow in his eyes.

"Are you okay?" He asked, and but shook my head. "It's nothing." I lied. He didn't believe me, but thankfully he dropped it as he grabbed my hand and led me up the staircase; I'm guessing to his room.

He pushed his bedroom door open, and at first glimpse, I knew I was in love.

All along his wall were posters for bands and singers I would never imagine he would listen to.

Bands such as Smashing Pumpkins, Green Day, The Misfits, Metallica, Green Day, Mötley Crüe.

Singers such as Rob Zombie, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Iggy Pop.

"You like it!" He asked, but I was to stunned to answer. In to much awe to even turn my head to look at him.

Instead, I made a happy little squeal and jumped onto his bed, getting a closer look at his posters.

"It's amazing." I whispered as soon as I could remember to talk, and he sat on the bed, chuckling.

"I'm glad you like it. Besides Patrick, no one else has really seen my room." He said in a smaller voice, and I turned around to look at him. It wasn't like him to seem so... scared.

"Gerard?" I asked, and he hummed his little response; it sounded like a yes.

"Are you scared that I won't... like you?" I stammered out, and he glanced at something over my head.

There were a few minutes of silence before he grunted and nodded, slowly.

"Something like that." He whispered in a cracked voice, and for some reason, my heart ached for him.

I need to cheer him up, but how?

Suddenly, an idea burst into my head, and I bounced up.

"Why don't we go to the park? Walk around a bit?" I suggested, and he looked at me before doing a double-take, no doubt thinking I was crazy.

I suddenly felt very conscious, as if I had done something wrong.

"We don't have to.." I drew out, and Gerard chuckled and lifted my head.

"No! It's a perfect idea! I could take my drawing supplies and maybe..." He whispered, then stopped.

"Maybe... what?" I asked, and he chuckled nervously.

"Maybe draw you." He said after a few minutes of awkward silence, and my eyes lit up.

"That's a wonderful idea!" I shouted and got up, wrapping my small hands around his and pulling him to his feet.
