Dinner and Curves

I sat up on my bed, and looked at the astray hair in front of my eyes. I laughed, pretending to be someone. I hopped out of bed and did a coolish pose on the floor. I looked awesome. I don't understand how some days I wake up perfect and other days far from glorious.

Yesterday was amazing, why did Kadin have to interrupt it...little fucker.

I grabbed my phone and read through all the missed texts I had from him. Turns out, he invited me out to eat. Today!?

Wow, I could've went out with Zenix again, but not today. I texted Kadin back asking when he wanted to meet and where. I am a polite girl, I wasn't going to just say no, I'll do that later.

I honestly hoped he'd have plans come up and wouldn't be able to take me out, but not even two seconds after I sent the text, he responded. He wanted to meet for supper, at Olive Garden. Well it's free food basically. I guess I'll go.

After a few hours dragged by, I threw on a cool blue shirt, with nice shorts. Casual, but not too casual. I walked out the door, shutting off the house lights. I decided I could run some errands, or shop while I waited till six.

I decided to go to a few of my favorite stores to browse, seeing as I forgot my wallet. After looking around for so long I decided to take a break and sit down on a little bench in the mall. All that walking made me a bit thirsty, I checked the time...an hour till the date. Woah! Time really does fly when you're shopping...although I was only browsing.

I went to get a coffee, so I walked to the nearest coffee shop. I walked in the warm, small cafe and quickly noticed my friend Cadenza working. An odd aura hit me, when I saw people from high school. I took note of Kai and Ein having tea together, strange people from high school. They didn't seem very nice, so I never really approached them.

      "Hey Cadenza!" I said waving.

      "Hey...What's up?" She said sickly.

"You should take the day off.." I suggested pointing to her restless eyes and droopy smile.

"No, I'm fine." She said smiling, shaking her head.

"Are you free tomorrow, I could use someone to help me sew dresses..? Cadenza added, pulling her fiery hair into a ponytail, and walking into the back to make my usual....mocha latte.

"Yep, I'll be there!" I said loudly. Knowing her brother, Laurence was there, maybe I could hang out with him too.

"Good." She said sniffling, handing me my latte.

"Bye!" I said over my shoulder, walking out.

I checked the time realizing how long it took me. It was almost six, and I still needed to walk to Olive Garden. I practically ran to the restaurant. I pulled open the doors and doubled over panting. Ayyy, I got here right at six! I asked the server if she had anyone named Kadin come in. She said no, so I got in a seat for the both of us. After about ten minutes I started playing on my phone, and reading articles. I checked the time again out of annoyance. He was over twenty minutes late.

No waitress or waiter even came over because I told them to wait for him, cause I'm polite.

I peered around, and noticed him smile at the server and start joyously walking over filled with glee, as if he wasn't late. I quickly replaced my glare with a smile.

"Hi Kadin." I said as he sat down.

"Heh, I love Olive Garden." He said practically drooling thinking about the bread sticks, gross.

Kadin

A waitress with luminous orange hair walked over with the name 'Lucinda'.

I knew I was on a date with Maddie, but I could't help but stare at her tiny waist and hourglass body as she set menus on the table. I felt someone glaring into the back of my head so I shifted my attention over to a girl with ugly highlights working on her computer. She must've thought I was a player or something.

"Could I start you off with something to drink?" Her angelic voice asked.

"Water..." Maddie said looking down, she was so cute.

"Lemonade!" I said laughing, I expected Maddie to join in, but she didn't.

"Okay, great!" Lucinda said walking away.

"Hey Kadin, I have something important to tell you.." Maddie said.

"Yes?" I asked confused, was she going to ask me out!?

"Hey, our waitress is my friend Lucinda, could you treat her with more respect....so please don't stare." She huffed as looked at me and sighed.

"And also, I think you should find someone else, I don't think that I'm the girl for you..." She added with a serious tone.

"B-but I t-thought..." I stuttered, and questioned if she ever even liked me in the first place.

"People change." She said tapping her foot, clearly ticked off.

I slowly began to understand, all the blurry puzzle pieces fit into place and became clear, there was a time when she just stopped responding to my texts..and calling me back. Before I could say anything Lucinda came back with the drinks and asked what we wanted to eat. I ordered a nice big meal, while Maddie didn't even order.

"I also wanted you two to know, someone requested I wasn't your waitress, so I'm extremely sorry for the inconvenience. Another waitress will be coming out." Lucinda said looking down.

We both nodded and I glanced over at the nerdy girl. She quickly looked away and went back to work, slamming the keys on her laptop.

"Why didn't you order a meal..?" I asked focusing all my attention on Maddie.

"I don't want to stay much longer, and the bread sticks and salad filled me up.." She said with a small smile.

I devoured my food and didn't bother to use a napkin, I was probably clean anyway. I licked my fingers, top to bottom, making a click sound with my saliva. Maddie probably found it hilarious! The new waitress came over and asked if we needed anything. She was so pretty I forgot to ask for the bill. 'Maria'.......

Maddie must've noticed me staring at her and stood up. I watched as she pushed her chair in.

      "Chair.." I mumbled cautiously quiet.

She didn't even bother to say bye. How is she so perfect, sweet, and tough!?

Today didn't work at all. I planned to ask her out, then go over to her place and chill. My plan evidently failed.

But it was still good that I got to hang out with my first love even if it was for the last time....I'll always remember her.
