Letters: September-October

Dear Lily and James,

Hi its me Harry, I hope your alright. Things are great here.

I was sorted into Gryffindor by a magic hat. the houses colours are red and gold which is the main colour of the common room. I've made a friend, called Ron Weasley; he has red hair like you Lily and has freckles and very tall. Magic is very interesting, my favourite subjects are Transfiguration and charms. I was the second person to transfigure a match stick into a needle- Thanks James!. Charms is also very interesting we've been changing colour of things and I was the first person to do it- thanks to you Lily. Potions is awful though the teacher just seems to hate me and asked me very difficult questions like "what would you get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" which is Draught of living death and "where would I find a bezoar?" in the stomach of a goat. Lucky that Lily was interested in Potions otherwise I wouldn't know that. He looked really surprised that I knew the answers correct and Hermione Granger looked put out.

Hermione Granger is a really smart girl in our year in Gryffindor, she does remind me of you Lily Ron seems to dislike her, but I think its just a façade so she wont get targeted. She's alright I guess but if she changes her attitude would get along with her better.

Dear Harry,

Thanks for the letter, life here its very boring I wish I was in Hogwarts. You should get to know Hermione she seems like she has no friends- talk to her make her feel not alone. Well done on getting into Gryffindor- I knew you would. Congrats on Charms and Transfiguration and I wish I was there in that Potions lesson to see his face.

Life here at the Dursleys is awful there completely ignoring us. Schools great, History is interesting and I'm in the top set for English and Maths. That's me done okay onto James.

Hey Harry its James! Well done on Potions if the Potions teacher hates you then I hate him too, who doesn't like you- Don't answer that Lily. Yeah I agree with Lily (Shocker I Know) shut up, anyway you should talk to Hermione she could help you feel like she would be a friend. And don't listen to Ron, its your decision. Your Welcome as well for transfiguration.

So have you made any enemies? And when do you start flying and could you send us wizarding sweets. And tell us which teachers to look out for.

Hi,

It turns out that there was a bank robbery on my Birthday- when I was in Diagon Alley. But the thing is nothing was stolen.

Anyway how are you, I hope the Dursleys aren't giving you any grief. Okay teachers: Professor McGonagall is strict but fair, she teaches transfiguration; Professor Sprout is kind, she teachers Herbology; Professor Flitwick is ...er... small and enthusiastic and fair, he teachers charms; Professor Snape is biased to his own house Slytherin, and hates me. We have a mutual relationship, he teachers Potions. Professor Quirell is really annoying as he stutters and he seems to be scared of his own subject, he teaches Defence against the dark arts.

As for enemies yes, one called Draco Malfoy. He thinks he's so superior but he's not.

I guess I should mention flying lesson, well. I'm the seeker for Gryffindor; because Professor McGonagall saw me dive and catch Neville Longbottom's remeberall. Its all thanks to Draco Malfoy he threw it and I caught it. But then he challenged me to Wizards duel- I didn't accept it. Ron did. So we snuck out and Hermione and Neville tagged along and we almost got caught as Malfoy tipped Filch (the caretaker) saying that we would be there. But then when we were running away we ended on the 3rd floor corridor which is forbidden. Yeah well it turns out that there is a three-headed dog in the forbidden room.

So don't be mad Lily, write to you later. Harry.

That was really reckless of you! Why do hang out with Ron why not Hermione; she'd be a great friend. Well done on becoming Seeker, and I'm guessing you stood up for Neville- Maybe become better friends with him? You can't limit your friendship to just Ron. Thanks for telling us about the teachers it helped a lot. I like the sound of Flitwick. Keep up with your school work and everything. And most important have fun!

Yeah what Lily said, that adventure sounded awesome, and Malfoy sounds like the right sought of enemy to have. Even Lily agrees with me. A bank robbery on your Birthday? maybe it has something to do with the Cerberus. That's it I think. I'm mean Dursleys are ignoring us, school is actually interesting. We're at the top of the class, obviously.

Letters part one is done! I know its only two months but I want Lily and James' birthday to be separate and Christmas and I may just skim over Harry's second year just to get onto the twin's 1st year which is Harry's 3rd year. Tell me what you think:)
