دهه نود دوره اوج بریت پاپ بود زمانی که ما بند هایی مثل blur و oasis داشتیم ....و البته جنگ بین blur و oasis هم داشتیم :/ (شخصا نمی دونم برادر های گلیگر این همه عصبانیت رو از کجا میارند؟) البته زیاد مهم نیست چون حداقل اون موقع ما موزیک خوب داشتیم!
اهنگ The Universal از بند blur درباره دنیایی از اینده است که در اونجا مردم به بسیار خوشحالند و احساس می کنند اوضاع همه چیز خوبه . اما این احساسی ناشی از نوعی مواد که دولت بهشون میده و واقعی نیست (منظور همون تاثیراتی که اشخاص حاکم بر جامعه می تونند روی طرز فکر عوام مردم بزارند )
این اهنگ تاثیری زیادی از بیتلز و کتاب های 1984 نوشته جروج اورول و دنیای قشتگ نو نوشته آلدوس هاکسلی گرفته .
طوری که دولت در همه شرایط مردم رو زیر نظر داره و کنترل می کنه و نمیزاره اونها از حبابی که توش زندگی می کنند بیرون بیاند.
