Katniss Dowell

-A year later-

I felt someone shaking me as I fluttered my eyes open,"Excuse me miss, may you please put on your safety belt as we are landing shortly."

I passed through the immigration and made my way to collect my luggage bags. As I was waiting for the belt to start moving, I was wondering what my brother would be doing right now.

Yes, I might have gone against my parents' 'regulations' but I'm quite happy the way things are turning out right now. I saved up money throughout the years I was there and got a plane ticket to where I am now, London. However, I miss Sebestian loads and actually planed to bring him with me,but he's too young.

After I snapped out of my daydream, I realized that all my 4 luggages are still on the belt and people are already leaving the airport.

I called a cab and gave the driver my apartment address that I would be staying at until I find a place to stay and hopefully with a cheaper rent as I'm still saving up money.

Minutes that felt like hours passed by and after the agonizingly slow wait, we reached the apartment."That would be 25 pounds miss." I gave him a 30 pound note and told him to keep the change.

As I step down into the apartment lobby,I went to the reception counter and told them my name.The women at the counter gave me my keys and said 'Hope you enjoy your stay here with us,Ms Katniss."

*DING*

The lift opened and as I stepped out into the hallway, looking for my room. After I found my room,took off my shoes that was killing my foot. While waiting for the doorman to bring my luggage up here to my room,I explore my room that I'm gonna stay for a while.There was a small kitchen at the left,the room and the bathroom was big enough for me,the laundry room has everything I need and the lounge has a T.V and a four-sitter sofa.

*DING DONG*

"Coming!" I practically shouted as I rushed to the door."Here are your luggages Miss.", the doorman said as he dragged my overweight luggage into my closet."Thank you L-Luke." I stuttered as I squinted my eyes to read his name on the tag that was pinned onto his uniform.

I gave him a 5 pound tip because I pitied him for having to carry my extremely huge, heavy bag.

My stomach grumbled non-stop, telling me I haven't even eaten any lunch yet. I looked out my window to see a small cafe across the street and decided to head there for a bite.

I headed to the cafe and saw a white piece of paper stuck to the window that caught my attention. It wrote 'hiring waiter/waitress for part time job on weekends from 8am to 3pm'. I was instantly interested in this job and thought that maybe I could work and earn some money to make a living.

The smell of raisin, sugar bread and brewing coffee overwhelmed my nose, tingling all my senses with excitement. The girl at the counter looked really friendly so I decided to approach towards her to order my drink and food.

"Hi! I'm Caitlyn. What would you like to have?"

"Erm... I would like to have a hot chocolate and your raisin, sugar bread please?"

"Sure. Sorry but please may you tell me your name so I can call your name when your order is ready to be collected as we don't have enough workers here."

"Yeah sure. My name's Katniss"

I turned away to look for a table to sit but remember that I was interested in the job offer and so I approached the girl again.

"Sorry to bother you again but I read the job offer that was posted onto your window just outside and I'm interested in working here so I would like to ask how much the salary is per month?"

"I'm not sure how much the salary for you will be because it increases as you work here longer. You could always talk to our boss, Mrs. Ashley."

"Do you think I could speak to her right after the cafe closes?"

"Sorry but she is out of town this week. She should be back by next Tuesday so maybe you could speak to her then."

"Okay, thanks."
