ELIZABETH TRIED NOT to think about how expensive this place looked. She still didn't know which part of New York they were, but she did know that it was some country part since she saw mainly trees, mountains and large mansions. But by far this was the largest one.
Boy was she really that lost in the clouds? She always thought that New York only consisted of high rising buildings, skyscrapers and barely there vegetation with more hustle and bustle than any other. But she guessed she was wrong. New York did have a country side. She leaned forward in her seat to question the driver again as they moved through the iron gates.
"Are you sure we're still in New York?" She inquired and he nodded.
"Sir usually stays at his penthouse or condo in the city, but as it is the weekend," he pauses to clear his throat and Liz cocked her head at the man. Was he nervous to tell her this information? It wasn't as if it was anything really personal. It wasn't even a lot. Such a difference from the Vince she met before getting in the vehicle. Maybe the warm air and silence along with the long stretch of road for a good hour must have caused him to be this reserved and quiet. More like he had a stick up his bum. She really needed to stop being so ungrateful. The guy answered the question and that was all that mattered. "He stays here."
Oh yeah, Liz nodded. It was Sunday after all. Still the weekend. The only day she got off work early. Although she wasn't going to complain. She desperately needed the money and it wasn't as if she had anywhere better to stay. The woman's shelter wasn't exactly the nicest place to be. Especially compared to her aunt's ten bedroom, six bathroom mansion. Correction. Her slimy arse of a cousin's now. She would call him a snake, but snake's were sweet and beautiful compared to him. Yeah, they only had the poison bite in common.
Liz slid back across the soft smooth leather to sink in the plush seat as the vehicle came around a fountain round about and halted in front of majestic doors with a gold plated 'SV' on them. She could now grasp why he must really love this place. It was...something out of a dream. It was unable to compare. All this greenery and beautiful colors along with this mansion. There were green veins growing over the stone surface of the mansion, giving it that old yet natural look. As if it was apart of the nature surrounding it.
This house wasn't just majestic, it had charm with it and Liz was in love. Although she really shouldn't. Not in a million years would she be able to own such a house so it didn't make any use thinking too much of it. She didn't even have a place of her own as yet. She needed to focus on that. If she survived long enough for her nest pay check, she would probably be able to move into a small apartment and most likely least it. To her, that was a step up from renting it. But New York was so damn expensive.
Her door was then opened and she stepped out to see it was Vince holding her door opened. He gave her a cheeky smile and she was glad he was back to his old self.
"Well, Miss Golding I guess this is your stop to heaven," he bowed before grinning at her. "Or hell. It all depends on what Mr. Vasquez decides on. But always beware the beast."
He said the last part with a jokey grin and Liz couldn't help but smile back at him. He was really funny.
"I appreciate your warning, Vince," I told him and he nodded. "But I am afraid I won't be staying here long enough to decide on whether or not this place is Hell."
"Oh, Miss Cinderella, huh?" He teased, wiggling his eyebrows at he slammed the door shut. "Fairy godmother gave you a shorter bedtime. I always though midnight was too much time for you."
She shook her head at him. "I am pretty sure Cinderella wasn't as pale as I am and had blonde hair. Mine is actually the opposite color."
She touched the mop of shoulder length curly black hair. The curls in her hair were quite big and hard to manage, most times she had to wrestle with it for it to be caught in something resembling a ponytail. But today she was too exhausted to care. As long as it wasn't dry and didn't look like a complete bird nest, she was good to go.

Romansa"How do I know I can trust you?" She asked, watching him carefully. "You don't." He simply said, pouring himself a glass of what she presumed to be whiskey. "And you aren't even going to try to convince me?" She inquired and he shrugged as he roll...
