Bright blue eyes slowly opened as the morning breeze blew in through an open window. The sun shone bright and a bird chirped landing on the window seal. Garroth bounced up out of bed and took a deep breath. He sighed happily and quickly got dressed. Today he was determined to convince Zane to go to the lake with him and he would do whatever it takes.

Garroth skipped down the stairs humming a small tune. He arrived in the kitchen a few moments later. Zane was standing at the stove cooking eggs. "Heyyy baby brother~" Garroth said. "What do you want Garroth?" Zane sighed. "I was thinking..." Garroth started before Zane cut him off  "Oh no, that's bad you shouldn't do that!" He joked. Garroth frowned "Heyyy!" He whined.

Zane just rolled his eyes and laughed. He served himself some eggs and sat at the table. Garroth took the rest of the eggs and sat across from Zane. Garroth leaned his elbows on the table smiling like a dork. Zane looked up from his phone lifting an eyebrow "What?" He asked slightly annoyed.

"As I was saying earlier! I was wondering, if you would go to the lake with me tomorrow." Garroth exclaimed/asked Zane. "Why, what's the occasion?"He asked. "Nothing, I just thought we could go just you and me have some brotherly bonding!?" Garroth replied. "Nah, I don't feel like it." Zane stated looking back at his phone." Garroth sighed. "C'mon it'll be fun! I promise!" He pleaded. "I said I don't want to!" Zane snapped. "Zane I just want to do something nice, it will be good for you! Please you're always alone in your room!" Garroth cried. "NO!" Zane yelled storming up the stairs into his room.

Garroth sat on the couch and sighed. 'He's always like this, alone and sad... He never wants to be around anyone, he's so depressed I just want to help. I feel bad for shadowing over him when we were in school. I just with my baby brother could be happy.' He thought. A while later he went up to Zane's room and knocked on the door. "Z-Zane?" He asked calmly. "What do you want" Zane's muffled voice was heard through the door. "Can we talk... Please?" Garroth asked. Zane sighed "Come in" He responded.

Garroth slowly opened the door peeking his head through before entering and sat on the bed next to Zane. He sighed "Zane, I'm sorry I just feel so bad... like is my fault you're like this I always overshadowed you and didn't think about how you felt. I hurt you and I'm so so sorry, I just wish I could help that's why I wanted to take you to the lake..." Garroth said. Zane was silent for a moment. "I'll go." He said. "What?" Garroth said confused. "I'll go with you to the lake." Zane replied a bit more annoyed but still calm. "Really! Cool... Thank you Zane... I love you" Garroth said standing and walking out. "I love you too" Zane said quietly but Garroth still heard. He walked out of the room a slight smile on his face.
