A/N: I think I'm changing the name...hmm...
Chapter Seven
Flora coughed. "I'm not the best person to talk about mates with."
"Why not?" I asked.
"I don't have one yet. I...only know what I've been told. And what I've read in books." she admitted.
"Books?" I asked.
"They're all over the internet. They're half-right, I guess." she shrugged. "It's funny to have them write about us and think we don't exist."
This whole thing made my head hurt.
"So...Twilight was more about vampires, I don't know I've never read it, but what about mates?" I asked.
"Soul mates, basically. You have what is known by many names, but we call it the Pull. You feel this attraction towards your mate that's impossible to deny. And the longer you know them, the stronger it gets. I don't know how this will work for you. You could be an odd exception." Flora said.
I nodded. "But...it goes both ways? And you're stuck with them?"
Flora nodded. "But sometimes there is one part of the bond that isn't satisfied with the mate that has been destined for them. Usually it's the male. It has to do with this stupid dominance/ego thing. And, I don't want to scare you, but they can reject you. Xavier won't. But he could. Rejection isn't allowed in our pack. It's painful for the one being rejected. It could kill them. And if your mate has sex with someone who's not you after you have met, it could also kill you."
"But that's not going to happen, right?" I asked.
"No, of course not. Xavier is extremely loyal to pack values. He's a great guy, you're really lucky." Flora smiled at me. "He'll be a great boyfriend."
Boyfriend. "Shit. I have a boyfriend." I said.
Flora's eyes widened. She slapped a hand over my mouth. "Don't say it so loud! Xavier could hear you, and his wolf would hear you...and let's just say that wolves are not happy when their mates are with someone else. You have to break up with him."
I nodded. "Okay, he was never that good to me anyway. I'll call him."
"No, no, text him. Xavier could hear, and I really don't think a death on the day of his initiation is any good." Flora said.
"He'd kill Michael?" I asked.
"Probably not, but seriously injure." Flora shrugged.
I texted Michael. I have to break up with you. I'll call you later and explain.
Of course, I didn't intend on telling him any of this craziness. I'd probably tell him I didn't like him, or that I just didn't want to date him.
Good Riddance. Was the text I received.
I showed Flora and her nostrils flared. "What an ass."
I shrugged. "He's not a good person."
Flora nodded thoughtfully. "So, what are you going to wear to the party?"
!@#$%^&
Flora had her hands over my eyes. "Okay, now you can look when I uncover your eyes, okay?"
