The nights I've spent
Up so late with you
May have led you to this decent
These feelings behind my walls
Began to crumble with each late night
Ocean for a heart, it calls
You glimpsed the depths of my oceans light
So deep you drown
Few beautiful pearls, so deep
You brought them to the surface to be found
Yet, I still denied their keep
You tried so hard to show me
Eyes blind to your words
Your feelings so obviously of me
Ignorant, I dissed them as something absurd
Three syllable
Three words
"I love you"
My hesitation pitiful
This friendship forever cut through
Who knew it would become a rarity
Every night texts
Grew in scarcity
"Friends?", it fell to the depths
Those feelings have now resurfaced
Inexperience of a relationship
Led me to have pushed
A wonderful thing away
