YOU SHOULD STOP.

I woke up, totally ready for another day of work.  And by work, I mean chores.  I'm kind of like a real life Cinderella.  Except I don't live in the medieval times.  I also don't get a prince or a princess to love.  I also don't have a fairy godmother.  Basically I'm Cinderella with only the evil stepmother and sisters, and minus everything else.  Including the dead dad.  My dad is very much alive and healthy thank you.  He just enjoys torturing me as well.

I think you can see why I despise my life.  I lay in bed, my hair fluffed up around me, and stared at the ceiling of my room.  I knew that eventually one of my family members would storm up here and drag me out of bed, but I laid there, not moving a muscle.

I was expecting Mackenzie to come up to give me my list of chore.  Or maybe Ashley, Tiffney, and Brittney would. Or perhaps Roman could .  Surprisingly enough, no shrill voices screeched out random, unnecessary tasks, there were no mocking voices sentencing me to another day's work.  I entered the kitchen, hoping that Roman decided to take my cruel step-mom and stepsisters on some luxurious, fancy vacation, and wouldn't be returning until school started.  However, alas, Fate seems to hate me, because there they were sitting around the kitchen table.  Before I could back away slowly, and hope they hadn't seen me, Mackenzie handed me a paper.  It had all my usual chores, starting with getting the mail.

"Great" I thought.  I went out to get the mail.  I tried to pull open the door to the mailbox.  It was stuck, so I tugged a little harder, and it still didn't open.  I grasped the handle with both hands and pulled. Finally the door suddenly opened and the mail flew out. I bent to pick it up and saw what had been blocking the door.  There was a large, embellished box lying on the floor.  Luckily I had my hoodie with me so I wrapped the box in my cloak and hid it the bushes.  I would wait until Mackenzie's afternoon nap to open it.

Once, everyone was either busy or asleep, I snuck outside to open the box. I grabbed it , and tip-toed upstairs to my attic room.  But apparently, I tip-toed too loud, and out came the triplets.  Ashley stood in the middle, while Brittney and Tiffney flanked her on either side.  Simultaneously they all flipped their long, luscious locks of hair, and faced me.  For a few minutes, it was silent, but then Ashley spoke " What are you doing Isabella?"

Tiffney and Brittney, like parrots, repeated what Ashley said "Yeah, what are you doing Isabella?"

Ashley shot them an annoyed glance and then sneered at me "Shouldn't you be, like, cleaning something?".

I blurted the first thing that came to my mind "I think I'm sick or something, so I was going upstairs to get some medicine."

Ashley stared at me a moment longer, and then, again, flipped her hair, turned on her heel, and sashayed down the hall back in to her room, with Brittney and Tiffney right behind her.  I mentally sighed with relief and continued upstairs, only to bump into Tanya.  Tanya was the only one who was slightly civil towards me, and the only one who saw through my lies.  But, thankfully, Fate decided to be kind to me, and she only raised an eyebrow at me and continued to wherever she was headed to.

As I reached towards my doorknob, a shrill voice shrieked "WHAT ARE YOU DOING ISABELLA!!?? I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU TO MOP THE FLOOR!!"  I turned around to see the one and only, Mackenzie Cinderpot, glaring at me.

"Can life get any better" I thought.
