"BLAZE! Long time no see!"
"What the-?" Blaze stopped her argument with the stand man and turned around, surprised. Who could be calling her name?
A blue hedgehog suddenly appeared in front of her.
"Blaze, what are you doing here? You didn't tell us you would be visiting!"
"Uh, who are you?" Blaze asked. "And how is it that you know my name?"
The hedgehog gave her a strange look, one she couldn't quite decipher.
"What do you mean? Don't you remember me Blaze?" he asked. "I'm Sonic the Hedgehog!"
"Sorry, doesn't...ring a bell." Blaze replied awkwardly. Things were getting weirder by the minute.
"We went on an adventure together! To find the, er, Sol Emeralds together and save your kingdom!"
"What?!? I'm certain I would remember that!" This Sonic hedgehog character had to be lying, "But how could he know about the Sol Emeralds and that I am their guardian?
Perhaps he really did meet her, and she just didn't remember it.
"Well if I want to figure anything out, I'm going to need help. I have to take a chance and trust this guy."
Desperate times called for desperate measures. Especially since she had just found out more than a year had passed according to the newspaper.
"Is something wrong?" Sonic asked after Blaze remained silent
"Here goes!
Oh sorry. It's just that, you see, I woke up in the middle of the forest without knowing how I got there. My memories are gone and I have no idea why or how. And ass you said yourself, I protect the Sol Emeralds. If I don't get my memories back, my kingdom could be in great danger."
She had just finished explaining to the supposed Sonic when she heard a deep voice.
"You lost your memories?"
Once again, she turned around to see a hedgehog behind her. He looked very much like Sonic, except for red and black fur, as well as an unwelcoming expression.
"And who are you?" Blaze asked him.
"Oh that's Shad-"
"I'm Shadow the Hedgehog," the dark hedgehog interrupted Sonic.
"And friendly as always," Sonic teased.
"Oh, well I'm Blaze the Cat.
...So did I know you too?"
