The mighty Asura had grown up;
On seeing Devas, he would snub;
Ruthless, tyrant, his one glimpse and others would shudder;
Following the footsteps of his mother;
He also did intense penance;
To seek boon that could satisfy his vengeance;
History was about to be repeated;
‘Om Brahma Devaye Namo Namah’, he reiterated;
It took years of tapas so that his voice was heard;
Pleased with his bhakti, Lord Brahma appeared;
He asked him to wish whatever he desired;
Darika had two wishes to be granted;
First, he shouldn't be killed by any Devas;
Nor any man, Rakshasas, Danavas and Asuras;
Second, he should possess strength of hundred elephants;
His wishes were granted, pondered upon his strategy that was planned in advance.
