Darika lazed around with Asuras in Madayi;

The Devas were lead to the battle by Bhadrakali;

He saw Devas approaching with their army;

He was ready with his Asura army;

He laughed thinking how can he be slayed by a woman;

But he had asked that he shouldn't be killed by Deva, Asura, Danava or man;

He failed to realise that this was the remedy to his boon;

His glorious fate was going to be bane, soon;

Her hair had shadowed the Surya;

Giving an impression, that sun had set, to Darika;

With her golden anklet, she tried to confuse him;

He tried to detect the source of sound, her tactics amused him;

With the temple sword, she fought a fierce battle;

He soon fell down, life in him was little;

His army was no more, She chopped his head;

This story of brave Goddess spread;

She went to Kailash with his head in Her left hand;

Devas welcomed Her with flowers and garland;

This folklore ensures victory of good over evil, one of the core values of Sanatani;

Through Bhadrakali- the fiercest form of Bhagavathy.
