*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP*

I slam my hand my iphone trying to find the home button to turn off the damn alarm. I hear a knock on my door. "Olivia, hurry up I'll drop you off at school on my way to work." I groan, I've been dreading this for the last few days. I begrudgingly get out of bed and instantly wish I can go back to the warmth.

After I got changed I went downstairs for breakfast, dad had already finished half of his food on his plate. I sat down and looked at the french toast with bacon and eggs. Oh it looked so good and on any other day I'd probably eat everything whole, but today it didn't really look that appetizing I pick at the food until my dad starts a conversation, "come on Olivia just give this a chance, please."

"I'll wait in the car," I stood up grabbed my bag and headed towards the car.

We rode in complete silence on the way to school passing rocks, trees, and snow. I just wanted to get there so I didn't have to suffer anymore of this awkwardness with my dad. It's strange it was never like this a year ago, but then again everything was ruined a year ago. I shake my head, no don't remember especially today. Before another thought could come through my mind my dad pulled over to a some buildings with teenagers surrounding it.

Oak Grove High School. AKA my new hell on earth.

I stare at all of the students not as many as my old school but still a good amount. I turn to my dad, "please please don't make me go," my voice was cracking. "I'm sorry about this morning, but please dad I can't come here."

"Olivia listen to me I already talked to the principle and he already informed the teachers you ha-"

"What!!! You told them? Why would you do that???"

"I didn't tell them what happened I just told them that you're a little different and your old therapist and doctor already called them. They didn't tell them what happened they just told them that you're a special case."

I rolled my eyes, "great now not only will I be the new girl in school vulnerable to all those students, but now to make things even better the stupid teachers will think I'm some sort of charity case which I may remind you I'm not. I don't need their pity, I don't need them to treat me like I'm sickly child ready to die, I'm not even suppose to be here! You told me that I was going to be homeschooled you lied and now I'm at the place that reminds me of what happened." I started to breathe a little heavily. I knew I shouldn't have said that, but I was so pissed. I didn't even want to look at my dad.

I kept my head down, all I could hear was him breathing heavily, he was really angry. I looked up and his hand quickly went towards me, "I have tried to do what I can as a father," he unbuckled my seatbelt.

"What are you doing?"

"I've been patient." He reaches across me towards my door, "I am your father Olivia," he opens the door, "but enough is enough I have tried to help, I have tried coping, I have tried giving therapy and support groups a chance. Now I'm asking you to do the same, you refuse to get help and push everyone and everything away. What happened was absolutely awful and every time I think about it I feel like I could hurt someone, but I'm trying to move forward I'm trying to keep living, I am trying to live.....why don't you?" He looked at me with such hurt in his eyes.

Don't cry Olivia, don't cry. "I don't know," that's the simple truth I wasn't sure about anything anymore.

He sighed and looked ahead, "go on the bus when school's out, I'll be working late."

I simply nod grab my bag from the back seat and get out of the car. He gently goes back into the lane and drives forward. I simply stare as he drives off until I can no longer see his car. "I'm sorry dad, I just can't do this," I start walking down the road farther away from the school I'm about to put my headphones in when a person stops right in front of me. The person has a mischievous smile that I swore never to see again.

"Sooo where are you going Olivia? I'm pretty sure you're bad at directions anyway but I thought the buildings with all the students would make it obvious, the high school is over there," he pointed back towards the school.

Nicholas. "You know if I wanted your opinion I'd ask," I really didn't need this from him.

"So she speaks," another voice joined the conversation and to my annoyment it was Avery.

"And she has claws too," Nicholas' snicker really made me want to punch him, with the morning I had I was ready but another deep voice interrupted us.

"You should all be in class already," and of course it was Rowan cause having two of the brothers wasn't enough. Lets just add all of them.

"Hey it was Olivia who wants to play hooky I was just being a good citizen and trying to set her straight," with a nod that made it seem like he knew everything, Nicholas really liked boosting his ego.

Avery stayed quiet while Rowan shifted his eyes towards me, I shivered not only did he have a cold appearance I could tell from his eyes that he wasn't the nicest person. I mean he might look a lot like his father, but he didn't have Michael's kind eyes or warm personality.

"All of you get to class now, I don't have time to deal with this today," I noticed the other two stiffened when he spoke it was obvious they were scared of him and honestly I don't blame them. Rowan didn't seem like the nicest kid in the neighborhood. The boys started to shift towards the school, but I stayed put.

"Olivia get to class." The way he said my name made me shiver. Yup definitely don't like him.

"No," I noticed Nicholas' eyes widened and Avery seemed to tense up. Rowan looked at me with a stare that could probably pierce anyone. "I'm going home and you can't tell me what I can or can't do. We just met a few days ago don't act like you can order me around." I turned around and started walking again but I remembered something that I forgot to say. I turned back around to face them, "if you tell my dad about this I'll just deny it, it'll be my word against yours." That's it that's all I wanted to say and I continued walking.

Avery's POV

I was horrified as well as impressed by how she just spoke to Rowan, I don't even speak to Rowan in that manner, but then I again I know better. We watched as she kept walking by the side of the rode, was she really going to walk home? She lives like ten miles away. I turn to Rowan, "what do you want us to do?" he stays quiet for a bit.

"Avery, you go after her make sure she gets home safely," he finishes and starts to head back to his car.

Nicholas found his annoying voice back, "what? Why can't I go?"

"Nick just get to class," Rowan sighed but Nick knew when he should listen and begrudgingly walked to first period.

"Pitty, I had a Calculus exam I was looking forward towards today," I chuckle, but then I hear Rowan start speaking again.

"Watch her closely and don't let her cross the border. I have business to attend today so I won't be able to help if something were to go wrong, I'm trusting you with this Avery don't disappoint me."

I sighed, damn I was really looking forward to that exam. Instead of walking straight towards the road I enter the forest. I walk in and I hear birds singing on top of the trees, I stop and close my eyes. I open them and I only imagine that their one light brown color turned to a deep violet one. My senses enhanced by ten times and I see the forest as a new. I listen once more. All of the birds have become silent.
