solemnly—
like you want to say goodbye.
somehow; when the dark smelled
your stench and you smiled
and set the bridge on fire,
i could see the paint weathering;
almost like it was
saying
goodbye.
don't believe you
yarn the knots
and shift thetide.
why? is a funny
thing to say and
when? is sadder.
the prostitute is
drunk and so is
the world; don't
stuff the bills in
her chest.
hospitals—
clashing, clanging;
septic and rancid.
solemnly—
like you want to say good bye.
