Chapter 12- Everything's Going Down

We are in the gym, one team in the right side and the other in the left side. All the red balls were in a line in the middle of the gym. You have to run to the middle, grab a ball and try not to get hit by the opponent's ball. If you do, you are eliminated. The last person to stay wins.

We are all in running position. I may not be the fastest runner but I am fast and I throw hard. Valentina on the other hand, is good at running but not good at throwing. Jake is a jock like me so we know he is gonna win.

I glare at Mason who is lifting his sleeves up so you can see his biceps. He looks good, I admit it, but I am not gonna give him the pleasure of knowing. He is a d-

"3....2....1....go!" Mr.Jones shouts.

I run with all my energy. Jake is obviously in front of me running. I grab a ball and throw it to Mason who is right in front of me but he dodges. Then he throws it at me and I dodge. I fall on the ground because the ball was so close to me that I had to bounce back. Valentina goes up to me and helps me stand up. She throws the ball she had to Mason but he dodges again and the ball ends up hitting a boy behind him. The boy behind him was Lucas and he frowned since he was eliminated. Mason threw a ball toward us and we started to run but it was too late. It was gonna hit us anyway. Surprisingly, Jake jumped in front of us and the ball hit him. He fell to the floor and I kneeled down and said:

"Thanks Jake from Statefarm"

He rolled his eyes. I laugh and kissed him in the cheek. He blushed intensely and went to the side of the gym touching his cheek. He is so cute.

Some couple of minutes later, it was just me, Valentina and Jake's friend that I don't know his name,  versus Mason and Brody, another jock that has English class with me. Also a player so he is always flirting around.

Right now, Everyone has a ball in hand but Mason and I are in the back, standing still.

"Bring it on Emma" Mason says, with a smirk.

I run with anger taking over my body. I don't care if I fracture something but I am gonna hit him. I throw the ball and I missed. He throws the ball and hits me. My blood starts to boil. He can't win.

He starts to laugh but then Valentina throws the ball with all her strength and hits Mason in his stomach. He moans in pain and runs outside. The teacher follows him.

Right after Mr. Jones left, Valentina started to laugh. Jake and I laughed too. The bell rang and all the students left the gym. Valentina and I walked in the changing room, still laughing, and went out almost without breath.

"That was the best thing I have ever seen" Valentina said walking down the hall with me to our next class, Spanish. 

"Yeah, he totally deserve it and more" I said.

Lucas runs up to us and said:

"Hey! I have Spanish too so I am gonna walk with you"

We both nod. Then I remember Mason being hit and I burst out laughing again. Valentina hears me and joins.

"Ok...ok we need to stop" I said.

"What are you two laughing about?" Lucas said.

"Mason" I said.
