Love Knows No Age (BTS Jin Fanfic)

Who Are You?

All conversations between the boys are in Korean (unless written otherwise or when talking to Annie) but have been translated for your convenience.

Annie held Jin's hand up to her chest as she looked at his face. "Please don't forget me.." She whispered to him.

Annie had fallen asleep while sitting on the chair next to Jin's hospital bed. The only ones there with her were Jungkook and Jin. The others went back to their house to freshen up and get Jin some extra clothes for when he wakes up.

When Annie had finally waken up, Jungkook was standing at the other side of the bed. His face was full of sadness like he has just stopped crying. Annie saw this and felt bad for him. "Jungkook, your face is a little puffy." She says, hoping he would laugh. "I didn't sleep." He just answers. Annie was concerned, not only for Jin but for Jungkook as well. "Why?" She asked. "I stayed up in case Hyung woke up." He answers while not looking at her, but at Jin. Annie looked at Jin, then back at Jungkook. "You're really worried about him, aren't you?" She said. Jungkook turns to look at her. "Yes. I did the prank and this happened. He's like my big brother. He practically raised me since I was 14. I was having a hard time when we had to our military service." He says. Annie knew that Jungkook cared about his older members, he wrote his song "Begin" about them a few years back. She just didn't realize just how much he actually did.

Nurses would come in and out to check up on Jin, but this time the doctor came in. "Hello, Doctor." Annie said when she noticed him walk up. "Hello. I'm just here to check up on him and to answer any questions you may have before we discharge him." He replies. "Okay." She says as the doctor checks Jin and signs his chart. "Um, are you sure he'll have amnesia?" Jungkook asks first, in English. "It's a good possibility, yes." The doctor answers. "What would he forget?" Annie asks. "It depends on how severe it is and the patient. In his case, I would say he would forget a bit of his past before the accident. The most recent events are more likely to fade in his memory than memories from years back." He answers. Annie's head drops in disappointment. She knew Jin was sure to forget her. Jungkook, on the other hand, was a little relieved. "Okay. Thank you, Doctor." Annie says. "It is different with every patient. He might be lucky enough to not have Amnesia at all." The doctor says, trying to give Annie hope as he can see how upset she was. Neither Annie or Jungkook say anything as the doctor leaves.

They were there for a couple of hours, just waiting for Jin to wake up. The other boys had showed up to find that there was no change. They all sat there silently. "Have you told your agency about it?" Annie asks. She was referring to Namjoon, but all the boys looked up at her. "Yeah, I told them. They said they would take care of the expenses and we just leave when he's discharged... Hopefully it's soon." Namjoon answers. "Does this mean you guys have to go back to Korea?" Annie asks softly while she looks at Jin. The boys heard her, but remained quiet. Not wanting to answer the question.

The silence was broken by small groan... from Jin. Annie immediately looked up and held his hand tighter. All the boys got up and stood around his bed. Jin fluttered his eyes open. He pulled his hand away from Annie and held onto his head. Annie looked down at where his hand was. She slowly looked back up to him, sorrow in her eyes. "Why does my head hurt so much?" Jin finally says, in Korean. "Hyung, we played a prank on you and you accidently fell and hit your head." Hoseok says. "Pabo-yah (idiots)... aish.." He says as sits up. Jin looks around at the boys to see they're all there. Then, his eyes land on Annie who was silent the whole time. He furrows his eyebrows at the sight of her. He calls Taehyung closer to him and he whispers something in his ear. Taehyung looks at Annie, then shakes his head. 

"Who are you?" Jin says to Annie. Annie's eyes go wide and start to tear up. "You don't know who I am?" She says, her voice shaking. "No. Am I supposed to?" Jin answers. Annie doesn't say anything because she knows she won't be able to get a word out. She gets up and walks out of the room. She breaks down crying in the hallway. "Annie..." Someone says as they put a hand on her shoulder. Annie turns to see Jungkook looking at her with worried and sorrowful eyes. "He forgot me, Jungkook..." She says while crying. He pulls her into a hug to try and calm her down. "Cry it out. The boys and I will help you." He says while he pats her head as she cries on his chest.

Meanwhile, the boys were trying to explain who she was to Jin. "Hyung, do you really not remember? She's your girlfriend." Jimin says.

"You really like her." Yoongi says. "She looks too young for me." Jin says. "She is young, hyung. But you liked her anyway." Namjoon says.

"How old is she?" Jin asks. "She's 20, I think." Hoseok answers. "She's more for Jungkook then. Not me." Jin says.

The boys sigh as they know how much more this I going to crush Annie. "But, you were with her, not Jungkook." Jimin says. "Well, obviously I'm not. Jungkook is with her." Jin answers. "Hyung, are you serious? She literally stayed here right next you all day yesterday and all night." Taehyung says. "Sorry, I just don't see how I could be with her or like her... at all." Jin says.

Right after, the door opens to reveal Annie followed by Jungkook. Annie had stopped crying. The boys look at her with pity, but Jin isn't. She walked to the bed hesitantly. She was being encouraged by Jungkook.

When she gets to the bed, her head is down to avoid looking at Jin. She slowly looks up to see Jin looking at her, confused as to why she's here again. "Uh, hi." She says softly and shyly. Jin is silent until he sees all the boys look at him telling him to say something. "Uh, hi." He says. "You don't remember me, so I'll just introduce myself." She says. She's speaking in English. Jin thought. "My name is Annie." She says, sticking her hand out for him shake. Jin takes ahold of her hand and shakes it. "I'm Jin." He says. "I know." She says, with a small smile. "So the boys tell me that I'm your boyfriend." Jin says. "In the early stages still, but yes." Annie answers, hoping that he will accept. "Ahh... I'm sorry but I just don't see how I would be with you. You seem like you would be better with Jungkook." Jin answers. Annie's heart broke when he said that. "Hyung!" Jungkook says. "What?" He replies, honestly not knowing how much he was hurting you. "You're hurting her feelings. She really cares about you and likes you. She stayed here with you the entire time!" Jungkook continues. "I know. They told me." He says.

Jin looks to Annie. "Thank you for staying here with me. And I'm sorry for hurting your feelings." He says to her. "It's okay... I guess I'll go tell them you're awake..." She says, turning around to walk out the door. Before she could walk out, a nurse came in and told them that he was free to go and that all expenses are covered. Annie sighs. Jin gets up from the bed to change clothes in the bathroom. "What do I do now?" Annie says. "Annie, please don't be sad." Jungkook says to her. "She can't help it. He doesn't remember her, and now doesn't even think he would be with her." Hoseok says. "I know, thanks for repeating what just happened one more time." Jungkook says to him. Annie, who wasn't listening to their conversation, started to slowly walk away to the door. "Annie, where are you going?" Jimin asks, noticing her leaving. "I have no reason to be here anymore. He doesn't know who I am. Just keep me updated about how he's doing okay?" She says before turning back around to leave. Right before she walks out, Jin comes out of the bathroom. He turns to see Annie leaving. "Yah! Where are you going?" He says, stopping Annie from leaving. "I was just leaving since you can go back home now." She answers.

"Well, I'm pretty hungry. You must be too since you were here all night. Come eat with us." He says, looking at her. Annie's face lit up and she nods in agreement. "By the way, you couldn't have left. We all came in your car." Jungkook says. "I thought that when the boys went back home, they brought their car too?" She says. Namjoon shakes his head. "No, but that would've been a good idea." He says. "Well, let's go eat." Jin says. The boys start heading out before Annie and Jin, as they trail behind. "She is the right height for me..." He mumbles to himself, looking at her. "What?" Annie asks, even though she had heard him. "Nothing. I didn't say anything." He says, before walking a little faster. Annie smiles before walking to catch up to him.

"Hurry up! We're hungry!" Yoongi yells to both Jin and Annie as they hold open the elevator door. "We're coming!" Annie says, while jogging a little bit to get to the elevator. She gets in before Jin and she stands behind him. She looks up at the back of his head that was wrapped in a bandage. I hope you remember soon, Jin. Annie says in her head.
