Today I saw something I used to think I hated
Instead of rage I felt understanding
A sense of empathy flooded me
Tears filled my eyes
A hole was dug in my heart where the hate used to fill
Empathy replaced it
I understand now
The freedom needed by those we love
Taking a second look at something I hate made me wonder
Why do others feel the opposite?
So I decided not to push away the possible things I could love
I'll take a second look with eyes anew
Opinions will form to be mine from now on
Yet I will see everything from all sides
If all of us could accomplish this feeling
I wonder what would happen..
Until then I must rely on the little things
The little things that engrave these feelings into the soul
