After bumping into Joey, this feeling kept forming it way in the pit of my stomach... ugh his smile, just thinking of his smile is just so mmm and his voice...

God his beautiful voice, I sighed at the thought of him

Whoa wait no I can't fall in love that quick

1. I barely know him
2. I just met him
3. What if he isn't the one
4. What if I don't get to see him

"Makayla?" I see him looking at me but then he kept saying my name

"MAKAYLA!?!?!" I snapped back to reality  "huh what happened?" I said looking around to see that I'm in my house

"What's going with you?" Kira asked while stuffing her face with popcorn

"Oh uhm nothing I was just thinking about something" I said playing with my fingers

"Is it that boy? The one you were bragging about?" She looked at me

I nodded my head slowly, she sighed "Kay, look I don't want the same thing to happen to you again, I still can't believe Christian did that to you.... you didn't deserve.... and he didn't deserve you.." she rubbing my shoulder in comfort

"Me neither...."

Saturday Evening

I stared at myself in my body view mirror, I was in a black mini skirt with a cute top to make it look casual and cute...

I twisted my bangs to both sides of my head and Bobby pinned them in my hair

I smiled at myself... if only mom would see how much I've grown...

I touched my heart locket, it brings back a lot of memories..

A lot.... even her accident....

I shook the thought out of my mind, and focused on tonight, I'm meeting Jen for the first time

I held out a breath that I didn't know I was holding in and walked downstairs, I hear the doorbell ring

I got excited, I smiled to myself

"I'll get it!" I said to my dad, who was in the kitchen getting the food ready

"Alright let them in" he said

Them? I opened the door to see a boy, but all I see was his back "Mom hurry before they open the door" the boy said

I cleared my throat, he turned, and oh my god... I can't believe it

"Uh what are you doing here?" I asked

"Uhm most importantly, what are you doing here?" He asked with a confused face

A young beautiful woman came up from behind him, with a younger girl who was probably around 12 or 13

"You must be makayla?" The young woman said while extending her arm out

"Uhm yes ma'am" I said while extending my arm out to shake hers

She smiled "This is my son Joseph, but he goes by Joey, and this is Sophia"

"Hi" the young girl said with a smile "it's nice to meet you sophia" I said

I looked up at Joey, "and you too" I said with a small smile, he gave me a nod and a slight smile

We were eating dinner "The food is great dad" I said starting a conversation

"Thank you, well actually you kinda helped me with it" he said with a kindly smile

I looked in the corner of my eye, I see Joey is looking at me while eating.

"So makayla, what school do you go to?" Jen asked

I looked at her "I go to North Ridge High" (obviously made up) "I uh take photography, me and my best friend do"

"That's lovely" she said with a smile

"Can I see your pictures sometime later on?" Sophia asked

"Anytime" I said giving her a smile

》》After Dinner 《《

I was washing dishes, until someone put more dishes in the sink, I looked up to see Joey, our faces inches away

I could feel his warm breath, "uhm thanks for helping ... J-Joey" I managed to get out

"No problem" he said looking at me, with those amazing eyes.

He walked away, and suddenly it felt different...

I continued to wash dishes, but Joey kept going through my mind...

As soon as I put the last dish away, I cleaned out the sink full of soapy water and turned the water off

I walked in to see my dad and Jen in deep conversation, my dad seems really happy, by the way they smile and laugh together

It might take some time to adjust this a little, but I think I'll manage

"Makayla, Joey and Sophie" my dad started then he exchanged looks with Jen who was smiling

"I wanted a chance to ask with our families together... as you can see guys uh me and Makayla don't have much family since they all live in New Jersey, I was wondering if y'all would like to become a family?" He looked up at all three of us, Sophie was smiling widely

"Really omg! I'm gonna have a new sister!" She squealed while hugging me, I hugged her back

Joey didn't say anything, he sat there quietly...

"Oh and..." my dad got on one knee, my eyes went wide, and so did Jen's

Jen looked at my father "Oh my god David"

My dad had a big smile plastered on his face, as he gets out a tiny jewelry box

He looked up at Jen, he placed his hand in hers "Jen.. you're the best thing that has happened to me besides Makayla" he chuckled which made me smile "you make me so unbelievably happy, every time I'm with you I can't help but love you more...and we've been together for almost two years, the best two years I've ever had, and I want to know if you are willingly to make me the happiest man alive.." he opens the tiny box

Tears started forming in Jen's eyes, she looked down at my father with the biggest smile ever

"Marry me?" My dad finished his sentence, as he looked up at Jen waiting for a response

Jen nodded her head yes not being able to say anything

My dad stood up, and he slid the engagement ring on her wedding finger, they both share a hug and kiss

I smiled happy for my dad, I looked over at Sophie to see her smiling, and happy for her mother

I looked over to Joey, he has no expression on his face, no emotions...nothing

Maybe it's gonna take a real long time to adjust to this....
