(From philosophy)
I had to find an excerpt from Plato's Apology that I liked and write about it.
"...either death is a state of nothingness and utter unconsciousness, or, as men say, there is a change and migration of the soul from this world to another."
I chose this passage because the notion of death is truly fascinating. And, wow, that sounds so much more morbid than it did in my head. What comes after death is a subject that we will never understand until we experience it ourselves. Death being a state of nothingness is a bit of a scary prospect. I can't speak for the rest of the world, of course, but I've always lived my life believing that there is something to look forward to after death, that "death is just another path, one which we all must take." Excuse my Tolkien quote; I am utterly obsessed with The Lord of the Rings.
