*Kylie

"Is it a movie?"

"No."

"Is it more laser tag?"

"No."

"Is it-"

"It's a fucking surprise! That's what it is!" Bryan yells, speeding up the car.

I fall over in laughter at his outburst. "Are we there yet?"

He glares at me. "Haha, very funny."

After ten more minutes of driving, we pull up at my favorite restaurant. Bryan shuts the car off and I give him the biggest grin I can muster.

"Thank you! I love this place!" I squeal, crushing him in an embrace.

"I know, Ky," He says, pulling me off with a small smile.

My parents had brought me here and all the good memories we made were shattered by the last. Hopefully Bryan and I can make some better memories.

"Reservation for, Trace," Bryan tells the hostess.

"Right this way."

We're led to the back, where not one table is filled, and seated in a small booth by the window. The hostess let's us know our waiter will be with us and hands us our menus.

I already know what I'm getting.

I look around the empty room. "Where is everyone?"

"Oh yeah, I bought the room for the night," Bryan responds.

"You bought a whole room for our date?" I ask.

He gives me a heart stopping grin. "Yeah, why not?"

"You're amazing."

"I know." He winks, before looking at the menu. "I think I know what I'm ordering."

"Well that's great! What can I getcha!?" A perky waiter asks, popping out of nowhere.

"Where the fuck did you come from?!" Bryan yells.

"Just watching!" He says, smiling.

"Ok..... well I want the ribeye and a sprite," Bryan says, slowly handing him the menu.

"And I want my usual with a tropical smoothie."

"Great choices! I'll be back in a jiffy!"

"Ok, what the fuck was that?"

I chuckle at his bemused expression. "That's our overly enthusiastic waiter."

"Remind me to request a different one the next time we come," He says.

"They're all like that though. This place prides itself on the quality food and quality people. If your waitstaff isn't overly enthusiastic, flirtatious, or just all around weird, then are we really at Katie's Steakhouse?"

He mouths 'wow' and I break out in laughter. This place was truly special. One time I came here and the waitress sang Happy Birthday to a toddler every time she went by the table. The toddler loved it but the parents did not and apparently sued for emotional distress. Obviously they didn't win but the waitress was switched to kitchen staff, where they sing songs while making your food.

Why do I feel like Colton would love to work here?

"Here's your meal!" The waiter chirps. "Yummy ribeye for you and a killer shrimp scampi for you!"

"Yeah... thanks, dude," Bryan says.

"No problem, bro. Fist bump!" He exclaims, holding out his fist.

Bryan slowly raises his fist and taps it with his.

"Rock on, dude!" The waiter cheers before leaving us in awe.

"I did that for you," Bryan says, slicing his steak.

"Did what?"

"I wanted to punch him in the face but instead I played along."

I twirl some pasta onto my fork. "Why did you want to punch him?"

"All I wanhed wah some aloh tye wif my girk," He explains while chewing.

"Ew! Chew with your mouth closed!" I say, crinkling my nose.

He rolls his eyes and continues eating until his whole plate is completely empty. His sprite was empty as well so he just sat there and stared at me.

"You're beautiful."

I look up from my plate into Bryan's dark eyes and I feel a wave of tingles rush through me. "So are you."

Bryan sends for the waiter and we make quick exit. The temperature's increased for sure, so I crank up the air conditioning in the car. My body still feels hot and Bryan must feel the same. His suit jacket is off and he's unbuttoned the top of his shirt.

Why is that making me feel hotter?

We pull up at the hideout and go straight to our room. Bryan locks the door but doesn't move from it.

"What are you feeling, Ky?" He asks.

"Hot."

"Kylie."

I get up from my spot and walk towards him. "I want you."

His eyes darken considerably. "Let's go to bed."
