The morning after our last day of school, was finally mt seventeenth birthday! Just next year I'll be turning eighteen years old! I'll be legal and able to do whatever I want with my life. But nevertheless, today was a very special day. It was my birthday, and I was looking forward for it.
"Happy birthday to you..." About five people were chanting the happy birthday song, getting higher every time. Allowing me to wake up with a smile on my face.
I sat up in my bed, and looked around my room. My mom was there holding a gift, my brother was also there holding another gift in his hands; my sister was also here, 'cause she arrived to Seattle late last night, she was also holding a gift for me. Richard was also here, he was standing in front of my bed, chanting along with everybody. And last, but definitely not least, Jason was also there, chanting along with my family to wish me a happy birthday. I stretched and then smiled towards the people who were in my bedroom.
"Happy birthday, baby! You're seventeen today!" My mom said happily.
"I know." I said gleefully.
"Well guys, give your presents." My mom motioned for my brothers and boyfriend standing behind her.
Michael came first. He handed me his present; a medium-sized box wrapped in turquoise wrapping paper. I unwrapped the present, and opened the white cardboard box inside of it, revealing a beautiful white sundress. It looked amazing; perfect to wear to a beach... But what beach is here in boring old Seattle?
I smiled in his direction. "Thanks bro! This is beautiful!"
Next came my sister, Becca. She handed me her present, which was a small box wrapped in lime green wrapping paper. I unwrapped it, and opened the small white cardboard box. It was a sunglass case inside, and from a very good brand: Ray Ban. I opened the sunglasses case, and revealed a pair of silver aviator sunglasses.
I looked up to my sister in surprise, and thanked her with a shriek. "Oh my god! Thank you! I have always wanted these glasses!"
Next came my mom. She reached to me, and handed me her present. "Open it." She motioned towards the box wrapped in a red-and-pink wrapping paper.
I grabbed the small box from her hand, and unwrapped the gift. Her gift was a small case, where tickets were inside. I took the airplane ticket out, and studied it carefully. It was a ticket for a trip to Los Angeles, California, on July 5th, 2012. I turned to look at her with wide eyes.
"Mom...?"
"Well, Richard and I decided to take you kids to L.A. for a week during this summer! We'll spend about two nights in Richard's house in Malibu. We're leaving on July 5th." My mom said.
"Would you guys like to come?" Richard asked to my brother and sister. They eagerly nodded.
"Mom, can Anthony come?" Becca asked.
"Sorry honey, maybe next time he can come. Actually, next time him and Jason can come too. Of course, Jason, if you'd like." My mom said to Jason.
He nodded. "Sure, Mis-- I mean, Christine. If I wouldn't be a problem, I'd love to come."
"Very well, then, it's settled: the boys will come on our next trip. Now, we'll leave you two because I have to go to work. By the way, dinner tonight is at Morton's at seven; be ready." My mom said as she left my bedroom, followed by everybody else except Jason; because he was standing by my side.
After the door to my bedroom closed, Jason walked towards me and kissed me. I kissed him back for a short while, before he pulled away.
"Happy birthday, Nash. I love you." He said, he pecked my lips just once.
