Narrated

Dark-shade ran and leaped off the cliff. She began flapping her wings but nothing happened she continued to fall and plummeted to the ground. She closed her eyes ready for her grousome death. Then she felt a firm claw grab her. She looked up and saw that her mother had stopped her fall. She sat her back down onto the cliff. "Omg, that was scary." She said. "Silver-light, it's your turn now." Their mother said as she tapped him with her wing. "Just try to remember to synchronize your wings and spread then wide. "Okay." He replied to his mom as he backed up ready to leap from the cliff. He took of running at full speed and began to slowly flap his wings. He picked up the speed and leaped. He flipped and rolled and tumbled to the ground. His wings were doing nothing but flailing around and hitting himself in the face. He winced as he began to see the ground near him. He felt the firm grip of his mother around him and he sighed a sigh of relief. He hadn't realized that he had been holding his breath. His mother set him back down on the cliff and said "try again." This continued until eventually dark-shade jumped and found her balance. She began to flap as hard as she could and she was able to fly back up to the cliff. "Now, stay up there. Your wings must become strengthened." Her mother said as she flew above them.

It took a few more tries for silver-light to get it but he finally got it. He flew above dark-shade and said "I bet I'm faster. I mean I have four wings and you only have two." "You want to bet?" Replied dark-shade. "Mom, can we leave and go fly around?" "Yes, but stay close I don't want y'all to get hurt. Y'all have just learned anyway." "Okay." They both took off talking away as the took a view of the plains they lived on. They hadn't quite gotten a good look at their home. There were mountains to the west, a forest to the north, hills to the south and a ocean to the east. Along with pains in the center of them. There were a few trees and lakes in the plains. And a river that flowed from the mountains to the lakes which had a river that went to the ocean. It was all so beautiful. Silver-light was amazed and couldn't help but look down into the plains in awe.

"I don't want to die." Dark-shade said breaking through my trance. "Me neither but we can't do anything about it." "Maybe we should ask mom about it." "Maybe." "How will we tell Her?" "Well, we should ease into it. Not go directly in. Trick her into telling us about it." " okay, sure." "Um, let's not think about it much right now. We just learned to fly we should be having fun." I said forcing a smile onto my face. "Yeah, your right." She replied speeding up and smiling. We both began to speed up and go as fast as we could. We began to race. I won and gloated awhile before I challenged her to a trick contest. We took off she began to do a barrel roll but lost altitude too fast. She had to stop and regain altitude before trying again. She did it this time and now it was my turn. I barreled rolled, did a nose dive and pulled up at the last second. Once I pulled up I did a loopty loop and then hovered above the ground. "I think I won't at the Ariel and agility stuff." I said. My sister nodded and replied "Now it's time for the strength test." I agreed and we landed.

She said "wing wrestling fight." I said "fine" and we got into positions. Her wing was on the back side of mine and mine on the back of hers. We both began to push and my wing began to budge drastically. I began straining against her wing as she didn't even try. My wing was knocked off the log it was resting on and she smiled in victory. "Next we will, push a log up a hill and whoever makes it to the top first wins." I agreed and we both found a log about the same size. We took our positions at the bottom of the hill and we both pushed. She barely strained against the log and I had a rough time getting it to the top. When I made it to the top I realized that she made it there way before me. "And I won at the strength test." She said smirking.
