CHAPTER 1 - Fist Day // Part 1

- Sophie's P.O.V. -

"Dad! Have you seen my phone?!" I called out.

Currently, I'm in the kitchen searching through a "heck of a jungle" inside my sky blue book bag. "Honey, didn't you leaved it on the refrigerator again?!" He shouted back.

Oh yeah! Now I remember!

I quickly looked behind me and glared at the refrigerator. You are now my prey!!!

In a flash, I opened the right door of the refrigerator to be faced with my silver iPhone 7.

"THANKS, DAD!" I shouted as I took my phone out of the refrigerator.

And to close the refrigerator, I hip bumped it and started walking towards the round brown breakfast table. I took a seat close to the refrigerator and unlock my password to go through social media. A tall, firm, 39 year old, man with a navy blue business suit and with a untied red tie, came walking through the kitchen.

"Sure, no problem, sweetheart," he said as he smiled at me. I gladly smiled back at him. Walking towards the kitchen counter, he took out a pure white mug, and started the coffee maker. As he was waiting for his coffee to finish, he fixed his red tie around his neck.

I faced my phone and started to eat my cereal. On the other hand, my dad finished with the coffee maker and took his cup with him towards the table. He took out his 13 inches iMac Pro and started to go though his business website, or looking through morning news.

This is the first time, in three months, since we ate breakfast together. I smiled ear to ear. Perfect time for a daughter to father talk. I deeply inhaled and exhaled softly. Okay let's do this!!

"I-I um...," I looked up to him and he was still staring at his iMac. I tried once again to catch his attention. "Um, dad?" I asked softly.

"Yeah, honey," he answered as he kept on looking through his mini computer. Yes! I got his attention!!

"I'm-I'm...," I stutter. I exhaled and spoked again, "Dad, I'm-"

I was rudely interrupted by a phone ring. My dad was soon paying attention to his phone. Great, now I lost him.

He glanced at his phone and said, "Sorry, honey. I got to take this phone call." He got up from his seat and started to walk out of the kitchen. "Sweetie, tell me when I came back home for dinner."

The happy mood I had was soon gone. Now his phone was stuck to his ear. "You always say that," I mumbled as I continued eating my cereal.

I could hear my dad talking to his phone, taking his keys, and closing the front door. When I was done eating my delicious cereal of Lucky Charms, I checked my watch to make sure I wouldn't get late to my first day of school.

"It's 7:10 a.m," I said out loud. I still have time, I thought.

I shoved my phone to my pocket and quickly putted my bowl in the sink. As soon as possible, I ran upstairs. I opened my bedroom door to be faced by my bed with an opened book facing backwards. The title of the book was "The Jungle Book" by Rudyard Kipling. I snatched the book and hurried downstairs.
