jisoo managed to sneak out and quickly made her way to the park nearby her neighbourhood. she started to quicken her pace as she tried to ignore the cold air which is racing through her hair, making her regret not bringing a jacket.
jisoo saw hyungseob sitting on the chair at the side of the park. it is dark and the source of light is only the lamppost which is above him.
she's sure it's him even though he is wearing a blue hoodie and a mask which covers half of his face.
he slipped his hand inside his pockets, taking out his phone as he began to type something on it.
ting!
her phone rang, signifying a notification and hyungseob flinched at the sudden sound. he froze and stopped shaking his legs, before darting his eyes around the park.
she took out her phone.

as she finished reading his texts, she put her phone back in her pocket. she looked at hyungseob who is also already looking at her.
she went towards where he is, quietly taking the seat beside him.
"i told you to not come." his soft voice became so hoarse like he's been crying.
"i miss you." her mouth slipped. "i- i mean i'm worried." she quickly added before cursing internally.
he just stares into her eyes for seconds and not doing anything else. making her nervous as jisoo tried to look away.
he leaned closer and closer as the gap between us keeps on decreasing, she stiffened.
he raised his arms and embraced her. jisoo tried to ignore the unsettling surge in her stomach.
"i miss you too." he muttered quietly before breaking down into quiet tears. he buried his head in the crook of her shoulder. jisoo patted his back repeatedly and softly rubbed it to comfort him.
"hyungseob, i'm sorry.." she whispered quietly.
after a while, he calmed down little by little. his sobs stopped but she can still hear him sniffling. she broke the hug, and her eyes met his swollen and red eyes.
her lips curved into a small smile. "how are you even here, hyungseob?"
"i- it was free time, so i got out. i was supposed to head back before 8pm but.." he stopped mid sentence.
jisoo tilted her head sideways in confusion. "you might get in trouble."
"i already am in trouble."
"gosh. you should head back!" jisoo exclaimed as she hurriedly stood up with hyungseob's hand on hers, pulling him to stand up.
he stood up but he doesn't budge when jisoo tried to pull him with her. "i will walk you home first."
"what?" she said, bewildered.
he just nodded.
"no, i'm okay by myself. i walked here alone anyways." she tried to assure him.
he just shook his head in disapproval before tightening his grip on her hand. "it's dark. i will walk you home."
she let out a quiet sigh. "i really am okay by myself. besides, you should hurry."
he ignored her words.
"let's go."
