Briars Date

~Briar's POV~

Shadow ran with me until we got to the edge of the forest. He set me down and looked at me.

"What?" I asked crossing my arms.

He covered my eyes and led me into the forest.

"Shadow where are we going?" I asked nervously.

"Relax." He chuckled. I got chills. We kept walking for what seemed like forever.

"Are we there yet?" I asked.

"Yep." He moved his hands away from my face. We were standing in a clearing of forest illuminated by lanterns hung in the trees.

"Did you do this by yourself?" I gasped.

"Why yes I did." He grabbed hold of my hands. "Recognize it?"

"This is the place we had our first kiss." I said gazing into his crimson eyes.

"Yes this place is extra special." He said looking around.

I hugged him pulling him close to me. He hugged me back smiling.

"I love you." I whispered we drops our arms from the hug and he looked at me.

"I love you too... That's why-" he paused and got down on one knee "I want you to marry me." He said pulling out a ring.

That's when I just lost it. I fell to my knees in the dirt and hugged him feeling tears run down my face. I was just so jubilant.

He hugged me back. "So is that a yes?" He asked rubbing my back.

"Yes." I said smiling looking into his eyes. He put the ring on my finger over my glove and I just hugged him again.

Then he pulled me into a kiss. I happily kissed back running my hands through his hair feeling my tail wag.

We pulled away from the kiss and stared at each other for a moment. "Thank you." I said feeling myself tear up again.

He chuckled and hugged me. "You're welcome." He whispered. He laid down on the dirt pulling my head onto his chest.

We laid there and stare gazed. My hand intertwined around his.

-Shadow's POV-

With Briar laying on me and the calmness of the night I felt at peace. We watched the stars until I saw a shooting star.

"Look a shooting star make a wish." She said.

"I already have everything I want right here." I said tangling my hand in her hair.

She nuzzled up against me and I smiled keeping her close.

"This place really is sacred." She said sleepily.

"It's very sacred." I said smiling. "Come on you need some rest." I said picking her up and chaos controlling us back home.

When we got back I started carrying her up the stairs when she said "I love how your house smells it smells just like you."

"Don't you mean our house?" I said.

"Whatever." She nuzzled up against me as I set her down in bed. I laid down beside me and pulled her close to me.

"Thank you." She whispered again.

"Don't thank me yet." I said feeling her drift off to sleep. I closed my eyes and for the first time in a while felt peace.
