A/N So... I realize that I've started a bunch of series that I haven't finished. So I'm going to be finishing all of those before doing anything else!

That means everything is going to be put on hold until I catch up

Things that need to be finished.

1.This series
2.I am Alone

So without further ado, I present this as a peace offering. Please don't kill me...

Tick, Tick, Tick, Tick.

Aphmau, for once, is not asleep. Her eyes are glued to the clock on her violently purple room, watching the seconds, minutes, hours, tick by.

She cannot sleep, she misses Aaron. She's cold now, in his absence. Their bond as strong as ever, but their contact limited.

They had spent most of their summer together of course, but that didn't stop her from missing her mate, they had calls over the phone, yes, but it wasn't enough.

She's anxious, her ear twitches in irritation, another sleepless and wasted night, but when her alarm goes of she'll see him again, see his wild black hair and deep, steel colored eyes that she so frequently got lost in.

The beast within her isn't helping matters, as it hungers constantly for attention, her tail swings off her bed lazily, she closes her eyes for just a moment, and opens them to the sun beaming through her window.

Be-

She catches the alarm before it barely makes a sound at all, she set it early, so that she could leave before her mother gives her another talking to about her relationship going too fast.

Aphmau is well aware that her and Aaron have done things... a bit quickly. But that is how werewolves are. They are impatient, not to mention the instinct crawling inside their heads.

At least it's quiet. Aphmau thinks to herself as she slips on a white tee and ripped jeans, pulling a certain red jacket over them.

She fixes her hair and walks around on the cold floor barefoot, her internal heat kept her warm most days, but their was always that empty, chilled feeling when her mate wasn't around.

An almost silent shuffle from downstairs is brought to her attention, her ears flick in interest, and she stops milling around her room to listen.

"I don't know what you expect me to do Zach, she's almost twenty, I can't just tell her no."

It is her mother on the phone, and by the sound of it, talking with her father about either her still going to the school or her relationship that Sylvanna didn't approve of.

Aphmau sighs, yawns, and makes her way downstairs with her lavender tail dragging on the floor. The old stairs creak in protest under her feet, but Aphmau has learned to shut unimportant noises out of her ears.

One glance at her mother and she already feels the lecture coming on, she sighs once again and starts raiding the cabinets for breakfast before she left.

"Hija." Sylvanna starts, a concerned look on her face, each week Aphmau had grown more distant towards her, she knew she wasn't helping, with the constant lecturing, Aphmau just started to ignore her and anticipate another fight.

"Yeah?" Aphmau replies, a poptart shoved in her mouth as she turns around.

"Are you alright?" It is a simple question, one that Aphmau had heard many times, she was a little tired of hearing it, it's almost as if people wanted her to say no.

"Yes, Mom, I'm fine. There's no need to worry about me so much." Thunder claps outside, racking Aphmau's head for a moment, until she focuses on the rain pattering on the window.

"I'm your mother, it's my job to worry." Her mother replies, only earning a distracted nod from her raven haired daughter.

"You should get going before the roads get bad Hija. Call me when you get there alright?" Aphmau nods, slings her backpack over her shoulder and halfway opens the door before giving her mother a side-hug. Smiling just like she used too.

"Just because I'm a little quieter. Doesn't mean That don't care, and it doesn't mean that I'm in pain."

Sylvanna watches as her daughter sprints through the storm and into her purple car. Shutting the door and, after a few moments, the car roars to life.

Aphmau drives past the same ten fast food joints, almost get sideswiped by the same driver, all while her vision is slightly obscured by the rain pounding against the windshield.

Aphmau hears her phone ring and uses the wireless system through her car to answer.

"Hey sweetheart, you driving safe?" Aaron's husky, sleepy voice comes over the speaker, sending small jolts of warmth up through her body.

"Yeah, you already in the room?" She asks and in response she gets an amused and tired chuckle.

"Yeah. It looks a little different, has a few new features. I'm not going to spoil it. But I think you'll like it." His voice as well as his mannerisms had matured over the summer, he was as still a kid at heart but his soul was aging.

"I'll like being back even more. I missed that place, all things considered." Aphmau turns right on Ship Street, then follows the long stretch of road to her destination once more.

"You sure you didn't just miss me?" Aphmau rolls her eyes while keeping an eye on the swerving driver in front of her.

"Easy Hot Shot, I didn't miss you that much." Though even as she said it she tugs a little on his jacket that is draped around her shoulders.

"Mmmmhmm. And you so don't have my jacket in right now." She blushes deeply, he could always tell when she was lying.

"Alright, Alright. I'll talk to you when I get there." She relaxes back into her seat as Aaron says goodbye over the speaker:

"Okay, see you then, I love you."

A/N Again
So as you can probably tell, this book is going to be a little bit darker than the last, this is more due to storytelling standpoint, and because I want to try something a bit different, anyway hope you all enjoyed.
