"Are you kidding me!" I cried while searching through my book pile. It's only like what, June 21, yet I already read through both Math books, the Advanced English course book, and all science and history book for next year. I'm trying to get a head start, but I won't remember any of my information if I'm done too soon. This is why it sucks to be smart and have anxiety. I have to make my mom proud, because I can't be a repeat of my father. My parents just got their divorce final, and my mom is having me move out with her, to get away from my father.
"Anabell please! I know I was in jail for five years, but most felons stay in for life, you should be lucky I'm home so soon!" I remember my dad saying.
"Do you think I want Lizzie to grow up around a man like you? You almost killed an innocent child! Your lucky you slit him in a public place, and, do you think I want to be known as the women who is married to the Waunakee Wisconsin Killer!? NO!" My mom responded.
I remember exactly what happened, it was painful to hear my mother talk like that, my mother never get's angry like that. She's not supposed to because of my disorder. But I guess yelling at my father doesn't count, and to be honest, he deserved it.
So here I am three months later, about to move across town, to a bigger house thankfully, but now I have to drive every single day, which I love driving, but I don't want people to see my poor person car. It literally is the stereotypical grandpa car, but it's the only car my mom could have gotten me for my 16th birthday five months ago.
"LIZZIE LETS GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE YOUR FATHER IS COMING BACK WITH DRUNK MEN" My mom hollered.
"Geez" I said to myself. I picked up my 10 "smart people" books somehow, and hobbled down the creaky steps. I am for sure not gonna miss wood flooring, I am excited for comfy carpeting. The only bummer is I wont be able to practice my soccer skills as easily. Yes I know, I'm a nerd who happens to be the 2nd best player on the team. Sadly, Caitlyn Meekum holds the number one place on the team.
As I walked outside I could tell my mom was downright stressed, no makeup, hair in a messy bun, wearing grey sweatpants with a grandma pink T-shirt on, which was weird because my mom is a huge fashion freak, kinda like me. Yes, I also am into fashion. I on the other hand, had my mothers same dark brown hair put up in a dancers bun. No, I do not dance, I just like the way they wear their hairs up for dance competitions. I happened to be wearing some light eye makeup, with light pink lip stainer from the night before.
"Mom, do you want me to drive to our new address" I said eyeing my mom throw last minute shit into my crap-ass car.
She looked up at me with annoyance.
"No, I'm fine. I just wanna leave before your father comes home" She said slamming the trunk.
"Why would dad inform you about his drunk friends he is taking home?"
"He wants to give us good-bye hugs, so he warned me, but we aren't staying for that. Now if I were you, I would sit in the car and lets get a move on!"
I sighed heavily. Living with my mom, alone, will be better, but she cannot have mood swings. I need a calmer environment. No yelling, no drunk felon fathers, no random stray cats either my dad brings in because he wants to be "innocent". Nice try dad, you shouldn't have almost severed that ten year old boys arm, who happened to be my crush at the time whose mom forbidden him from ever talking to me, then shortly moving countries. Yes, they moved to Fucking Canada. I say good for her, there is more culture there than here, Waunakee aka Whiteakee.
1o minutes later, we arrived at smaller version of a mansion! It was huge, it makes our old house look like a backyard shed for a couple lawnmowers. That was the best thing that could have happened to us in the time frame.
"Mom! How did we afford....THIS! I mean, dad would get so pissed if he saw you spend our small amount of money-"
"Relax Lizzie," my mother said, " I make more money than your father thinks I do. He just doesn't want to live around people who know what he did to that one little boy."
"I guess, I mean, this is what I've wanted to live in" I said excitedly.
My mom gave me a smirk.
"What?"
She started to laugh.
"I almost forgot to tell you who our neighbors are" She said getting out of the car.
For some reason, I didn't get out or the car, and I'm glad I didn't. A woman walked up to my mom all smiley.
"Anabella!"
"Katy!"
Who the hell was Katy..........oh no! He was standing right next to her! FUCK! "Katy" is his mom. Shit shit shit.
Our new neighbors, are Will Maxwell and his Family!?
