Prologue -

My idol. My inspiration. My love. I have been judged for having strong feelings towards a girl who fought off everyone's worse night mare ... death. Cancer almost stole her life. At 18, most girls, think of boys, want cars, and dream of partying all night. All this girl wanted was, to survive. A chart-topping singer, an actress and a pop career ready to be launched, was suddenly stopped.

A young lady who lost her innocence. A star who was entering a darker world. No 18 year old girl wants to enter a situation that could result in death. No one wants to go into an endless line of surgeries and operations. No girl wants to be left with little tufts of hair that go grey, a face without eyelashes or eyebrows and big bulky braces. She didn't deserve to feel unattractive.

After 9 months of different diagnosis' that failed she got so scared she was always shaking uncontrollably. A plum-sized lump of the neck, exhaustion, rashes, night sweats and unexplained weight loss were just cold-like symptoms, was what doctors from all over the city were telling her.

This girl awoke from a nightmare after two hours of sleep one night, drenched in perspiration. She thought she had seen a dark figure trying to hand her a note. Obviously, her subconscious was warning her to get help. She was also told by nurses, doctors and GPs that there was a 1 in 10 chance that these symptoms were a serious disease, so there was no need to worry. But knowing how luck is never on your side in a time of fear, she was the ONE in ten.

A bright, happy girl was burdened with Hodgkin's Lymphoma (a type of cancer). She didn't smoke, drink or do drugs. So why her?

True Story - Delta Goodrem did have cancer. She did survive and now she is celebrating simply being alive, healthy and is living life to the fullest. She doesn't get stressed out anymore because cancer has put everything into a different perspective.

I have met Delta at the Voice Kids and it was one of the most memorable experiences ever. She told me never to give up on my dreams. She has given me strength to fight through any challenge and she has inspired me in every way. Thank You Delta Goodrem <3

Authors Note - Hey! My name is Bec, I am 15 years old and this is my first fan fiction. Any feedback would be awesome. Even if you don't like Delta Goodrem, I believe it's still a great story. Love and Light xx
